David Spade has donated $100,000 to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) in honor of his late sister-in-law and designer Kate Spade. In a statement David said, “More people suffer from mental health issues than we may realize but no one should ever feel ashamed to reach out for support.”
Dr. Luke’s attorney has accused Kesha of lying in a text message to Lady Gaga that the music producer raped Katy Perry. His lawyer goes on to say that Kesha did so in order to add validity to her own sexual assault claims against Dr. Luke, and that she and Lady Gaga then “coordinated to post graphics on their Twitter and Instagram pages” that referred to the allegations.
Katy Perry has been questioned in the case, but what she said is unknown. Kesha and Dr. Luke are currently preparing to go on trial: She sued him in 2014 for allegedly drugging and raping her, and he countersued for defamation.
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend star Rachel Bloom has called out Neil Patrick Harris for his Twitter snark following their awkward exchange on the platform. Neil initially tweeted “Who is the woman in the top hat backstage at @TheTonyAwards,” which prompted Rachel to remind him that they’d met “several times” and that her husband wrote for How I Met Your Mother.
Rachel admitted yesterday, “I saw that tweet. And I was kind of devastated,” She went on to slam Neil for his self importance. “Fame does that to you–where you think every kind of random, unformed thought is a gem, because you get 10,000 likes from it,” she noted.
Neil must have read Rachel’s comments because he has since issued a proper apology. “Sincere apologies to @Racheldoesstuff for my Tony tweet. I failed to research her before pressing ‘send’, and what I thought was a funny comment in our living room must have been far from funny to read, backstage, mid show,” he tweeted. “As a performer and a parent, I should have know better.” Bloom graciously replied, “Hi, thank you for this! Apology accepted.”
Roseanne Barr returned to Twitter on Wednesday to share that she’s been reflecting on life since her racially-charged tweet about former Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett resulted in her show being canceled. “1) I want you all to know I’m fine. I’ve been using this time to reflect and to gain insight on what I said and how it was misunderstood,” she wrote. “Needless to say, I’m NOT what people have accused me of! I’ve never practiced ‘racism’ in my entire life & never will.” Roseanne went on to share that she’s been watching a documentary about human rights activist Malcolm X and listening to Kanye West’s new album Ye. “Listen to @kanyewest new album about mental illness, it’s the greatest thing ever,” she tweeted.
Meanwhile, Tiffany Haddish is saying, Roseanne is racist. Here’s her story: “I don’t know if you know El Segundo [a 0=”coastal” 1=”California” 2=”town” 3=”near” 4=”LAX”], but if you’re black and you’re driving through El Segundo, you’re going to get pulled over. I used to visit my friend Anna there, and it got to a point where I was calling the police officers by name. One day, we were walking around the neighborhood, and Anna says, ‘Oh, Roseanne lives there.’ Now, I loved Roseanne, and the next day we walked by, and she was in her yard. I say, ‘Hiiii, Roseanne.’ She looks at me (makes a disgusted face), and ran in the house. I thought, ‘Maybe she don’t want to be bothered today.’ A week later, we walk by again, and I told Anna — she’s Hispanic, but she looks white — she should say hi this time. So she says, ‘Hi, Roseanne,’ and Roseanne goes, ‘Hey!’ I thought, ‘Maybe she got to know us.’ Then I go back, like, a week later, I wave again and say, ‘Hi, Roseanne! I love your comedy,’ and she (makes the same disgusted face) and turns her head. I think, ‘F*** that b***h.’ That was 2000, maybe 2001, so it’s not new. She been racist, why’d you all give her a TV show?”
Kate Hudson has revealed that she once drunk dialed all of the men she’s ever been involved with. “There was one night in Ibiza… I woke up and I had FaceTimed 50 men from my past,” she recalled. “It was like every man in my [phone] I had FaceTimed at 3 in the morning. One of them I had FaceTimed 15 times. Honestly, it was liberating, because I had never done anything like that before.” Kate also shared that her go-to drink is vodka and that only one of the men she’s hooked up with was someone she worked with. “My dad told me never sleep with your co-stars, and I listened… except once,” she admitted. Kate is currently expecting her third child, a baby girl, with boyfriend Danny Fujikawa.
Coming up with Josie and the City, Nicki Minaj says being single has made her music better! Details at 8:40.
Nicki Minaj has revealed that she’s currently flying solo for the first time since she was 15. “It’s the first time in my life I’ve ever been single. I remember feeling like I could do anything at one time in my life and somewhere along the line, I just started second guessing myself for whatever reason,” she says. “Becoming single was one of the things that made me feel strong and powerful.” Nicki goes on to admit that she feels guilty that she may have contributed to women behaving like what she calls “modern-day prostitutes” in strip clubs and on social media. “Whether you’re a stripper, or whether you’re an Instagram girl—these girls are so beautiful and they have so much to offer,” she notes. “But I started finding out that you give them a couple thousand dollars, and you can have sex with them. I was like, ‘Yikes.’ It’s just sad that they don’t know their worth. It makes me sad as a woman. And it makes me sad that maybe I’ve contributed to that in some way… I can’t look down on these girls. I may not be having sex with people, but I’m selling sex appeal.”
In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Tiffany Haddish reveals how she once aggressively hit on Leonardo DiCaprio. “I met him at a party two, three months ago, and I asked him if he’d let me hit that. He’s like, ‘Tiffany, you’re so funny.’ I’m like, ‘I’m serious.’ And then he goes, ‘I mean, I’d do it, but …’ I was like, ‘Come on, wasn’t you in a squad? The coochie squad or something?’” (DiCaprio led a team of bratty Hollywood hunks known as the “p**sy posse” in his twenties.) Tiffany then added, “I told him, ‘My only stipulation: I wanna do it with you as your character in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape.’ He starts bustin’ up laughin’. ‘Why?’ he asks, and I say, ‘Cause I feel like that performance deserves a real reward, and that reward is this (gestures at her own body).’ He starts goin’ into how he got into the role, how he worked with these kids and all this stuff, and I’m just listenin’ and listenin’, like, ‘Mmm-hmm, mmm-hmm.’ I finally go, ‘All that’s good. I just need to know: When’s this gonna happen?’”
DRAKE announced that his new album, “Scorpion”, is coming out June 29th and he dropped a new music video last night (with the Degrassi cast) – the track is called I’m Upset.
