The “MTV Movie & TV Awards” aired last night, and Chris Pratt stole the show when he accepted the annual Generation Award . . . by laying out nine rules for the next generation. Here they are, word-for-word:
1. “Breathe. If you don’t, you’ll suffocate.”
2. “You have a soul, be careful with it.”
3. “Don’t be a turd. If you’re strong, be a protector, and if you’re smart, be a humble influencer. “Strength and intelligence can be weapons, and do not wield them against the weak . . . that makes you a bully.”
4. “When giving a dog medicine, put the medicine in a little piece of hamburger. They won’t even know they’re eatin’ the medicine.”
5. “Doesn’t matter what it is. Earn it.” “A good deed. Reach out to someone in pain. Be of service. It feels good and it’s good for your soul.”
6. “God is real, God loves you, God wants the best for you. Believe that. I do.”
7. “If you have to poop at a party but you’re embarrassed because you’re gonna stink up the bathroom, just do what I do and lock the door, sit down, get all the pee out first, OK?
“And then, once all the pee is done, poop, flush, boom! You minimize the amount of time that the poop is touching the air, because if you poop first, it takes you longer to pee and then you’re peeing on top of it, stirring it up.
“The poop particles create a cloud, it goes out, and then everyone in the party will know that you pooped . . . Just trust me, it’s science.”
8. “Learn to pray. It’s easy and it’s so good for your soul.”
9. “Nobody is perfect. People are gonna tell you you’re perfect just the way you are, you’re not! You are imperfect, you always will be, but there is a powerful force that designed you that way.
“And if you’re willing to accept that, you will have grace. And grace is a gift.
“And like the freedom that we enjoy in this country, that grace was paid for with somebody else’s blood. Do not forget it. Don’t take it for granted.
“God bless you, please get home safely.”
Frankie Grande has opened up about his sister Ariana Grande’s engagement to Pete Davidson. He told E! News, “Oh, my God, I’m so happy for my sister, for my whole family.” He went on to praise Ariana’s new album saying, “There’s an interlude called ‘Pete’ on the album. Yes, I’ve heard the whole thing. It’s truly remarkable–it’s a remarkable piece of work.”
Meghan Markle’s dad Thomas is getting chatty again! He sat down with ITV’s Good Morning Britain and (over)shared with host Piers Morgan on a number of subjects.
He claimed he didn’t stage those papparazzi the shots for money. “I didn’t do this for money, I did this to change my image. For one whole year I was presented as a hermit living in and hiding out in Mexico. I was looking to change my image. I made a mistake and it went wrong.”
He also revealed the Meghan cried when she found out he wasn’t going to the wedding. “They were disappointed,” Thomas said of the royal couple. “Meghan cried – I’m sure. She did cry. And they both said, ‘Take care of yourself. We’re really worried about you.’ They said the important thing was I get better.” Thomas has undergone surgeries recently for heart issues.
Thomas also broke down how Meghan broke the news about Harry’s identity. “The first phone calls were, ‘Daddy, I have a new boyfriend and I said, ‘That’s really nice,’” Thomas remembered. “And then the next call was, ‘He’s British,’ and I said, ‘Oh, that’s really nice.’ And then eventually the third time around, she’s like, ‘He’s a prince.’ At that point, she said, ‘It’s Harry.’”
It also sounds like Harry asked Thomas for his blessing in proposing to Meghan. Thomas said, “’You’re a gentleman. Promise me you’ll never raise a hand against my daughter and of course, I’ll give my permission.’” said Thomas, who called his daughter a “princess since the day she was born.”
Regarding the Queen, Thomas said, “I’ve had respect for that woman since I was a child,” Thomas said of the Queen. “I think she’s one of the most incredible women in the world and I would love to meet her.”
Gigi Hadid used to feel bad about the fact that she grew up rich and had connections, thanks to her parents Mohamed and Yolanda Hadid. “I know I come from privilege, so when I started there was this big guilt of privilege, obviously,” she says. “I’ve always had this big work ethic, because my parents came from nothing and I worked hard to honor them.” The 23-year-old model continues, “There are so many girls who come [from] all over the world and work their a**es off and send money home to their families like my mother did, and I wanted to stand next to them backstage and for them to look at me and respect me and to know that it’s never about me trying to overshadow or take their place. So when I started out I wanted to prove myself so badly that sometimes I would overwork myself.”
Chris Pratt and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s daughter Katherine were photographed enjoying a cozy picnic date at a park in Los Angeles on Father’s Day. Chris, who is 38 and Katherine, who is 28, enjoyed a simple lunch of sandwiches, apples and potato chips. They later left the park together in Chris’ car. Chris and his ex-wife Anna Faris’ 5-year-old son Jack has spent the past week with the actress and her new boyfriend, cinematographer Michael Barrett, in Italy.
Heather Locklear was reportedly hospitalized this weekend after threatening to shoot herself. Heather allegedly got violent on Sunday after her parents came over to her house to check on her. Her mother reportedly called 911 after the actress choked her and hit her father, telling the dispatcher that Heather was trying to locate a firearm with which to shoot herself. She is now under psychological evaluation and no criminal charges are expected to be filed.
Another Bachelor Nation couple is headed to the chapel. Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon are officially engaged after going public with their relationship in May. Jared popped the question on Sunday while in Mexico for the upcoming fifth season of Bachelor in Paradise, the spin-off series where their up-and-down relationship began three years ago. “Ashley had her suspicions that an engagement would happen in Mexico but she didn’t want to get herself too psyched out and then have nothing happen,” a source reveals. “They’re both thrilled though!” The pair also confirmed the happy news on social media Monday, with Iaconetti tweeting, “I didn’t even tell my grandma yet.” Viewers will see the proposal when the new season of Paradise airs this summer on ABC.
