Steven Tyler is done with American Idol. He Tweeted: "After some long ... hard ... thoughts ... I’ve decided it’s time for me to let go of my mistress ‘American Idol’ before she boils my rabbit. I strayed from my first love, AEROSMITH, and I’m back – but instead of begging on my hands and knees, I’ve got two fists in the air and I’m kicking the door open with my band.”  He went on to say that he’s going to dedicate the next few years to some serious ass kicking.  On Nov. 6, Aerosmith will be unleashing their new album.  Steven says doing Idol was over-the-top fun, and he loved every minute of it, but it’s time to bring rock back. 
 

As for Jennifer Lopez, it looks like she might be ready to call it quits as well.  She was on the Today show yesterday and she said, she absolutely loves doing Idol, but she has to put a lot of other things in her life on hold to do it, and she’s not sure that she’ll willing to sacrifice that way for another season.  Steven’s announcement also affects her decision because after two years of sitting beside him, she can’t imagine doing it without him! 

While on the Today show Jennifer also chimed in on Tom Cruise and Katie’s Holmes divorce saying they’re both really lovely people and she feels sad for them.  She added, quote, "You know I just wish them, you know, peace in their decision. And really for Suri and their other children as well, because you become such a family, it's not just Suri, its Connor and Isabella and everybody . . . I just wish them peace."

Demi Moore isn’t talking to her daughters right now and it’s really upsetting her.  She hasn't spoken to Scout, Rumer or Tallulah for weeks - they won’t return any of her calls, emails or texts. The girls have cut off all contact with their mother.  They stuck by her through her break-up with Ashton, and her rehab, but now they just need a break (is what I hear).  Demi is being very needy and they just can’t handle it.  They want a mother right now, not another sister. 
 

Rihanna’s record label, Def Jam is planning an intervention to stop Rihanna from abusing drugs and alcohol.  I guess she was doing well there for a little bit, but since her grandmother, Dolly passed away Rihanna has fallen off the wagon.  She was spotted smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol with friends in Barbados after attending her grandmother’s funeral.  She rented out villas for her friends at a private resort on the West coast of Barbados. She reportedly rented the villas for $6,300 per night each.  Rihanna’s friends say that she is in mourning, but drinking and smoking is no way for her to express her grief. Her record label has reportedly enlisted the help of RiRi's parents to plan an emergency intervention.

Adele is sparing no expense when it comes to preparing for the arrival of her baby.  I’m told she is building state-of-the-art nurseries in all her homes. She's having bespoke wallpaper made and it's costing a fortune.  She’s also installing climate control and cameras in the nurseries so she can see everything on her laptop. She's spending $54,000 on the lighting and sound system alone. 'She's pre-ordered Bon Point unisex baby clothes - and they don't come cheap. And she's already bought three Bugaboo pushchairs and a $900 Moses basket. Not to mention the small fortune she's spent in Tiffany's on picture frames and trinkets. She even bought an antique bear for $7,500.

Usher reportedly wants to settle his child support and custody war with ex-wife Tameka Foster in the wake of the tragic jet ski accident involving her son Kyle Glover.  A source close to the two told me they spoke this past weekend about settling. Initially, Usher didn't significantly change his offer which was 50/50 custody and a slight increase in child support. Tameka declined that offer. As a result, Usher met with his lawyers earlier this week to come up with a new offer which would give Tameka "a majority" of custody and a significant raise in child support.  Usher is very conscious that Tameka is suffering and doesn't want to fight under the circumstances.  Tameka hasn't been presented with the offer yet, but she is open to a "reasonable settlement." Meanwhile, reports say that her 11-year-old son Kyle hasn't been showing any brain activity since he was admitted into the hospital last Friday (July 6th).

This probably ISN'T true, but I’ve heard that Katie Holmes wants to change her 6-year-old daughter Suri's name. Apparently, the name was a Tom Cruise thing and she hates it. Lately she's been calling her "Scout", after the character in the book "To Kill a Mockingbird".  She also wants to change Suri's last name to Holmes, but keep "Cruise" as her middle name.
