Pink appeared on last night’s installment of The Late Late Show’s Carpool Karaoke, where she revealed that she wanted to marry Jon Bon Jovi as a child and was “devastated” when he wed his high school sweetheart Dorothea. She added that when she actually met Bon Jovi years later, she told him the story and he sent her a pair of leather pants and a note that read, “Now you can finally get into my pants.” Pink also dished that when she was N’Sync’s opening act back in 2000, she went on a date with Joey Fatone. However, she put him in the “friend zone” because she prefers bad boys. Elsewhere in the segment, the pop star sang her hits “What About Us,” “Get This Party Started” and “Raise Your Glass.”
Taylor Swift’s Reputation is still going strong. It has sold over a million copies in its fifth day on the market, according to the latest report. The record is now on track to sell an estimated 1.5 million in its first week – and that’s all without putting the album on streaming services.
This will be Taylor’s fourth album with a million-selling week – and likely her best sales week to date. She is as hot as ever!
In other Taylor news, she gave fans a huge surprise Monday night when she performed one of her brand new songs on The Tonight Show. She took the stage to perform her song “New Year’s Day” as a tribute to host Jimmy Fallon’s late mother, Gloria, who recently passed away.
Show writer and producer Mike DiCenzo explained (in a series of Tweets after the show) how Taylor ended up performing live, and the shocking significance of one of the lyrics in her song.
“First, a quick word about Taylor Swift. She was not scheduled to do our show today. But we wanted something special for this first show back, so we asked her on a complete whim, since she had been in town doing SNL. She said yes with zero hesitation,” he wrote on Twitter.
“She sang ‘New Year’s Day.’ No one had heard it. Suddenly she sings the line, ‘Squeeze my hand 3 times in the back of the taxi.’ I nearly gasped. Tears. I think everyone in the audience started sobbing. I could see Jimmy silhouetted at his desk dabbing his eyes with a tissue. We all lost it. It was a beautiful coincidence in a beautiful performance. ‘Hold on to your memories, they will hold on to you,’ Taylor sang.”
“That hug between Jimmy and Taylor after the song was 100% real emotion. Whatever you think of Taylor, she did something beautiful for Jimmy and our show today, and we’re forever grateful.”
During his tribute to his mother earlier in the show, Fallon recalled how she would squeeze his hand three times to signify “I love you.”
Singer and actress Eve has been named the newest permanent host for CBS daytime series The Talk. Eve replaced Aisha Tyler–who left the show in August. On her first day she said, “Honestly, I am the most excited I’ve been in a long, long time. I feel like the first day of school. My face hurts from smiling. I am so honored to be here with you ladies. Thank you so much for having me. Thank you!” Eve joins Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne and Sheryl Underwood at the table.
Simon Cowell had a very close call last month when he fainted fell backwards down a flight of steps in the middle of the night. That was a big wake-up call for him.
Now he’s on a health kick that includes more exercise, less drinking, and a lot less smoking. He was inhaling 80 cigarettes a day, but now he’s cutting back to just two.
That’s four packs of cigarettes, which is actually a logistical feat. Let’s say it takes six minutes to actively smoke a cigarette. 80 would take 480 minutes . . . or eight straight hours of puffing.
It’s especially impressive when you consider how many places you’re not allowed to smoke anymore.
Before he fell, Simon says he’d woken up, and wasn’t feeling well . . . possibly because his whole body was an ashtray. So, he walked downstairs to get some hot milk. On his way back up the steps, he fainted and fell backwards.
A big motivator for Simon’s new health kick is his 3-year-old son. He says, “I have got to really take good care of myself to sort that out. After all I am a dad and have more responsibility than ever.”
ABC announced yesterday that Blackish star Tracee Ellis Ross will host the 2017 American Music Awards this Sunday, meaning she’ll be close at hand when her mom Diana Ross accepts a Lifetime Achievement Award. The news comes one day after AMAs producers announced that Alessia Cara, Hailee Steinfeld, Florida Georgia Line, and more have been added to the night’s list of performers. The AMAs will air live beginning at 8 p.m. on ABC.
Nicki Minaj gets sexual with three versions of herself on the cover of Paper Magazine’s latest “Break the Internet” issue. For one look, Minaj rocks little more than sparkling nipple tassels and pink, latex high-waisted bottoms. The cover also includes the text, “Minaj à Trois.” The publication’s full interview with Nicki, who is currently working on her fourth studio album, drops today. Former “Break the Internet” cover star Kim Kardashian liked Nicki’s cover on Instagram yesterday and commented with three fire emojis.
Speaking of Kim, her new fragrance is called Crystal Gardenia . . . and it was inspired by the time she was bound, gagged and robbed at gunpoint in Paris last year. At least the shape of the bottle was.
She says, “After my whole Paris situation over a year ago, all my friends would come over and bring me healing crystals. I wasn’t really into them. I didn’t know much about them.
“Enough people brought them over that I love the shape, I loved holding it, and I felt like, ‘OK, this is it. I want something that I feel like calms me, is healing.’ And I wanted the bottle, especially the smaller one.”
She added, “It felt so pure to me. I just loved [how] the properties of the rose quartz and citrine bring happiness, and it just meant so much to me to look into what crystals mean and their healing properties.”
As for the gardenia, she says that’s her favourite scent ever.
