James Gunn is out as director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, according to a statement from a Disney spokesperson. He was ousted after old tweets poking fun at pedophilia and rape were circulated online by Trump supporters.
Gunn has been a vocal critic of President Donald Trump. “Many people who have followed my career know when I started, I viewed myself as a provocateur, making movies and telling jokes that were outrageous and taboo. As I have discussed publicly many times, as I’ve developed as a person, so has my work and my humor,” he posted in a tweet before his firing. “I used to make a lot of offensive jokes. I don’t anymore.”
In a statement since his firing from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he said: “My words of nearly a decade ago were, at the time, totally failed and unfortunate efforts to be provocative. I have regretted them for many years since — not just because they were stupid, not at all funny, wildly insensitive, and certainly not provocative like I had hoped, but also because they don’t reflect the person I am today or have been for some time. Regardless of how much time has passed, I understand and accept the business decisions taken today. Even these many years later, I take full responsibility for the way I conducted myself then.”
Roseanne Barr is claiming that she has been labeled a racist because she voted for President Donald Trump. After canceling a TV interview she’d been teasing recently, she told her fans that she would instead speak out on her YouTube channel where she could explain herself without contending with anyone else’s agenda. On Friday, she did that.
“This was my statement from the very beginning and it will continue to be forever because it is the truth. When ABC called and asked me to explain my ‘egregious and unforgivable’ tweet, I told them: ‘I thought Valerie Jarrett was white.’” explained Barr.
Barr continued: “about 40 minutes after that, my show was canceled before even one advertiser pulled out and I was labeled a racist. Why you ask? Well the answer’s simple: it’s because I voted for Donald Trump and that is not allowed in Hollywood.”
Noted cat lover Taylor Swift is taking her feline affection to the next level by starring in a movie adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hit Broadway musical Cats. Kristen Bell has revealed that she and her husband Dax Shepard regularly talk about other people they are attracted to. “I think what alleviates the pressure-cooker of monogamy is understanding that your partner’s attraction to someone else is nothing to do with you,” she says. “I’ve told Dax that if, one day, Jennifer Lopez comes up to him and says, ‘I need a weekend away with you in Sonoma,’ you have to go now, because I am clear that Jennifer Lopez’s beauty is not a reflection on me not being good enough.” She continues, “Here’s the thing. I love this man and I would not want him to be on his deathbed thinking, ‘I could have had sex with Jennifer Lopez…'” Kristen also shares that her celebrity crushes include Benicio del Toro, Peter Dinklage and Riz Ahmed. “If I ever get to make out with Riz, Dax will give me a round of applause!” she declares.
Migos rapper Offset was arrested for gun and drug possession outside of Atlanta, Georgia, over the weekend–just 10 days after his wife Cardi B gave birth to their daughter Kulture. Reports says Offset was pulled over for allegedly making an improper lane change. Police smelled marijuana and searched his car, in which they found three handguns, a small amount of weed (less than an ounce of weed) and $107,000 in cash. Offset, who is a convicted felon, was charged with improper lane change, possession of marijuana, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime. He was released after posting $17,000 on Saturday and Cardi B shared an Instagram story confirming he was home. Offset’s lawyer tells TMZ that the rapper was targeted because he’s black and successful.
Khloe Kardashian is apologizing after using offensive language in an Instagram Live video. As Khloe struggled to show off a morning exercise routine with sister Kourtney Kardashian, the two became frustrated attempting to connect their phones to the program, and both could be heard using the term “retard.” Kourtney told her sister: “Yes, you can you f—— retard.” Khloe then asked her sister, “Are you f—— retarded?” After a fan confronted her on Twitter, Khloe apologized, writing: “Ugh I hate that word! Why did I even say that? You are a million percent right and I actually greatly dislike when people use that word! I will do better! I am sorry! much love today.” Fans then toasted the reality star for admitting to her mistake and not making excuses.

Some stars will sign autographs wherever, whenever. William Shatner is not one of them. And the other day, someone on Twitter called him rude for not signing in public. So he put them in their place.
He said he does Comic-Con and other conventions to meet with fans, because otherwise it gets out of hand. Quote, “If I’m out and about with family or waiting for a plane and I do it for one, an instant line [of] 50 forms.
“So if I say no to #1 or #21 it’s the same . . . I’m a jerk. So to save time the answer is no.”
“Anytime I’m out in public I’m doing something . . . I value my personal time above all else.
“I sign autographs constantly for charities and other organizations. I’m just not going to take autograph or photo requests in public because one leads to 50 which leads to hundreds which I don’t have time for.”
