Priyanka Chopra has revealed that the key to making her and Nick Jonas’ relationship work is respect. “Truly this is what worked for me, he has to be someone who respects you,” she tells People. “By that, I don’t mean makes coffee for you, not that. But someone who respects the hard work you put into your life. Who respects that if his work is important, so is yours. Or if he makes choices that are important to him, so is your opinion. That’s respect, and that’s incredible to have.” The 36-year-old actress continues, “Then everything is so easy because you give each other credit for your intelligence, you give each other the benefit of the doubt because you trust each other. There’s so much that comes out of that. I think don’t settle for less than that.”
In the latest episode of her Facebook Watch series Red Table Talk, Jada Pinkett Smith reveals that she experienced a mid-life crisis at age 40 that changed her marriage to Will Smith. “This next half [of 0=”my” 1=”life”] has to be directed by my picture for myself,” she recalls thinking. “There was so much that wasn’t me that I was living. So much inauthenticity.” She goes on to say, however, that getting a divorce was never an option. “I put in too much. Period,” she declared. “Why do that? Why create all that disruption? I told Will from the gate, I said let me tell you something, ‘If you marry me, know this: we’re gonna be together. We’re going to be under the same roof’… for me personally, I knew that there was no reason that he and I would ever [divorce].”
The ongoing feud between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B got uglier than ever yesterday. It started when Nicki boasted on her radio show that her friend Rah Ali beat up Cardi and that there is video to prove it. “Rah really beat Cardi’s a** bad,” she declared. “I swear to God on my life, Rah held her head and punched her, like, eight, 10 times. The hardest punches you’ve ever heard in your life.” Nicki went on to offer $100,000 for surveillance footage of the incident. A furious Cardi responded directly to Nicki in a video on Instagram. “You lie so much you can’t keep up with your f**king lies,” she shouted. “First you say you’ve got the footage, but then you say you wanna pay somebody $100,000 if they give you the footage? Yo, make sense when you’re talking!” Minaj suggested that Cardi come on her radio show and that the two take a lie detector test. The rapper also criticized Cardi for her inability to write her own songs and suggested they “both sit in a room together, hear a beat for the first time, and have ourselves filmed writing to it” to settle the score.
Cardi B is under fire for suggesting that trolls who attacked her sister Hennessy online should kill themselves. “You should just fucking throw yourself off a balcony,” she declared in an expletive-fuelled rant on Instagram Live. “If you are a grown ass woman or grown ass n**ga on the comments talking s**t, you need a f**king life. You need to cut your motherf**king veins. You people need help.” Viewers took to Twitter immediately after and slammed the rapper for her “triggering” words. “Cardi B encouraging suicide and self harm… disgusting behaviour from someone with such a large sphere of influence,” one tweeted. Another wrote, “It takes one suicide ‘joke’ to push somebody over the edge.”
John Mayer made headlines when he announced on his Instagram Live show Current Mood last week that he had slept with about 500 people. He has since backtracked and revealed his number is a humble six. “I made reference to being a sub-500 guy and you guys, I know, listen, it’s a tough world out there and you want people to like you. And I try to do it too,” he explained on this week’s episode. “But I feel like people might like you more if you would just go along with what the truth is… I also just wanna say that I thought about it over the week and I actually went back over my entire dating history and… my number is six.” He concluded, “So I just wanted you to know that. That my number is six.”
Lay off the ‘gram, kids! That seems to be the message the pregnant Duchess of Sussex is sending in her latest round of public remarks. Meghan Markle should know of what she speaks, having been extraordinarily active on social media as an actress, even launching a lifestyle blog at one point. As a royal though, she has given up the blog and her social media accounts, and she wants others, especially young people, to step back from social occasionally as well.
Speaking to volunteers for Live for Tomorrow, a mental health organization for kids, she said it was “freeing” to stop worrying about how many “likes” she racked up per post, adding that “flattery and criticism run through the same filter.” Meghan added: “Young people find it so difficult. You see photos on social media and you don’t know whether she’s born with it or maybe it’s a filter.”
Prince Harry also weighed in. “Issues stemming from social media and gaming are a major problem for young people in the UK—and globally,” he said. “Fingers are often pointed at the parents but that’s not always fair as they too need to be educated about these things.”
Sofia Vergara’s ex-fiancé is apparently realllly hung up on her. Nick Loeb recently transferred his lawsuit over their frozen embryos to a court in Louisiana–apparently because it’s “a heavily pro-life state that recognizes embryos as human beings.” Even worse, he’s even trying to establish residency in the state to help his case by renting a house, getting a driver’s license and registering to vote there (even though sources say he’s still not planning on actually living there). Insiders tell the outlet that Loeb is driven by “pure and simple revenge” and wants to destroy her marriage to Joe Manganiello. Ya think?!
