On Wednesday, ABC announced a reboot for the show The Wonder Years–with a black family. The new show will feature a Black middle-class family living in Montgomery, Alabama, during the late 1960s. Fred Savage, who played the main character Kevin Arnold in the original series, is also attached to executive produce and direct.
Zendaya, John David Washington and the creator of Euphoria, Sam Levinson, made a secret movie last month, using multiple COVID-19 safety protocols. The film, Malcolm & Marie, is said to be similar to Netflix’s Marriage Story. Filming took place between June 17 and July 2.

John Carpenter announced Wednesday that the sequel Halloween Kills, has been pushed from its original October 16 date. It will now come out October 15, 2021. The Jordan Peele produced Candyman remake will now take the October 16, 2020 slot, moved from its original September 25 date. Another horror sequel, The Forever Purge, has been pushed from coming out this month, and will now hit theaters on July 9, 2021.
Warner Bros. announced Wednesday that they’ve cast Javicia Leslie as Batwoman for season 2 of the CW series. Ruby Rose left the show after only one season in the title role. Leslie will debut in the role in January of 2021, and will be the first Black actress to portray the superhero in a live-action production.
