
Bio:
Nicole Arrage is an emerging artist who dazzles us with her fluorescent aura. The multifaceted singer-songwriter paints unique sound illustrations using her vast palette of musical colors. Allowing her personality to shine through, she believes in letting the music speak for itself. She is inspired by soulful pop that composes her contagious melodies, mixed with the nostalgia of honest lyrics, topped with sprinkles of funky baselines. Nicole draws influences from Tori Kelly, Dua Lipa, Zedd, Tom Misch and Jacob Collier among others. Her artistic canvas showcases a remarkable vocal versatility, creating a vibe that is uniquely her own, one paintbrush at a time.
Born in Gatineau, she grew up passionate & curious about music as a whole. After
obtaining a diploma in pure & applied science, Nicole moved to Montreal to study at École de
Musique Vincent-d’Indy in Jazz Voice & Composition, for which it was love at first sight. She received the 2016 Aura Award of Excellence and the Pierre Lapointe & Christine Harkness scholarship. She completed her degree at McGill University’s Schulich School of Music in Jazz Voice Performance studying with Ranee Lee and Marianne Trudel. She also became a member of the music school’s live-streaming team: filming, switching, editing & teaching (TA), mentored by Prof. George Massenburg (Earth Wind & Fire, Herbie Hancock, Dolly Parton, Toto). Her remote-graduation video recital was featured on CTV News Ottawa, highlighting a 10-piece band performing Golden by Vulfpeck’s Cory Wong & Cody Fry. The video included Nicole’s video editing & audio production skills.
Nicole holds a special place in her heart for musical theatre. Her most notable performances include Vivian Kensington in Legally Blonde: The Musical (in French!), The Narrator in Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, a 2018 Montreal English Theatre Award winner for Outstanding Community Production which also played at the Segal Centre for Performing Arts the next summer after a successful run of 22 sold-out shows. She has also performed at the 2018 Halifax Fringe Festival. She also debuted as a screen actress, appearing in a commercial for Fizz Mobile (2018) and playing Dr. Jennings in Moment One (2021)
