CBS has renewed daytime talker “The Drew Barrymore Show”, but in a new format. For season three in 2022-23, CBS will produce and distribute the show in a format that will allow it to be aired either as two half-hour episodes that stations can run together back-to-back or be split apart to air separately.
K-pop, the South Korean music genre, has been turned into a musical. “KPOP,” will open on Broadway Nov. 20. Luna, a former member of K-poppers f(x), will make her Broadway debut in the show, which tells the story of K-pop superstars who are preparing for a special one-night-only concert.
Sam Smith is shooting a video this month for his new “dancey” song ‘Love Me More’, which is coming soon. A rep says Sam can’t wait for fans to hear their new material, described as “about love, laughter and being able to go out and dance again…after a heavy few years.”
Ed Sheeran thanked fans after ‘Bad Habits’ became his 10th song to reach a billion streams on Spotify. Last year, his mega-hit ‘Shape of You’ became the first song to reach 3 billion Spotify streams.
Aerosmith’s Joe Perry says the group had to talk 74-year-old frontman Steven Tyler out of swinging over audiences on a rope during their upcoming Las Vegas residency. The group has also foregone its usual Vegas paragliding trips, because “it’s so easy to break an ankle or something” The band will mark its 50th anniversary with a residency at Dolby Live June 17-Dec. 11.
Thomas Rhett is hoping to follow up his Katy Perry duet with a Niall Horan collab. Katy appears on the title track of Thomas’s new album “Where We Started”, and he says Niall and he have written together “a couple of times”, and he hopes they can find the time to record together.
MARTHA STEWART’s four dogs killed her calico Persian cat named Princess Peony. She says they “mistook her for an interloper,” which doesn’t make a ton of sense.
HARRISON FORD just booked his first regular role in a TV series ever. He’ll star with JASON SEGEL in “Shrinking”, a show about therapists. It’ll air on Apple TV+.
PINK ripped into “Rolling Stone” after they released their list of the 25 greatest Grammy performances. She said they haven’t been relevant since 1990. Of course, her not being on the list may have had something to do with it.
If someone asks you why performers do so many award shows, tell them about this. CHRIS STAPLETON had a 350% increase in Spotify streams for “Cold” after he performed it on the Grammys. And BRANDI CARLILE’s “Right on Time” saw a 600% increase in global streams after her performance.
Britney Spears has confirmed that she is writing a memoir. The singer wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post Monday, “Well I’m writing a book at the moment and it’s actually healing and therapeutic… it’s also hard bringing up past events in my life. I’ve never been able to express openly!!! I can only imagine that I do sound childish but I was extremely young with those events took place.”
Shawn Mendes has announced 13 additional “Wonder: The World Tour” shows in the US & Canada, with 86 arena dates announced so far spanning across North America, the UK & Europe. The new dates include stops the singer’s hometown of Toronto, new shows in San Diego, and St. Louis, as well as a second stop in Brooklyn.
The Weeknd is considering changing his name. He wrote on Twitter that he is considering “pulling a YE” and legally changing his name from Abel Tesfaye to just ABEL. He explained, “no last name. Like Madonna or Cher or Prince. I don’t know it seems like a lot.”

Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson seem to be taking their relationship to another level. Pete introduced the SKIMS founder to his grandparents recently. Kim visited Pete while he was filming a movie on Staten Island. Since the set was close to where Pete’s grandparents live, the pair stopped by for a visit after he finished filming one day.
The romantic comedy “Shotgun Wedding” will go straight to streaming on Prime Video. Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel star in the film, with additional appearances from Jennifer Coolidge, Sonia Braga, Lenny Kravitz, and more.
