“Canada’s Drag Race” is getting a visit from the Prime Minister. The trailer dropped for the new season of the reality competition, dubbed “Canada vs. the World”, which features a very surprising appearance by Justin Trudeau. “Canada’s Drag Race: Canada vs. the World” premieres Nov. 18.
Drake and 21 Savage are being sued for $4 million over the fake covers they used to hype their new “Her Loss” album. Docs say Vogue has “not endorsed “Her Loss” in any way”, and asked multiple times for all promos using the Vogue name to be taken down.” Vogue says Drake and 21 posed on what looks like a legit Vogue cover, leading fans to believe the special edition mag is real.
Peter Gabriel has announced a new album, “i/o” and a 2023 tour of the UK and Europe. A press release indicates that “full details on the i/o album will follow.” It will be his first album of new music since “Up” in 2002.
Nicki Minaj hinted at her long-awaited fifth studio album. She made the reveal in a new cover story for i-D magazine. She wouldn’t give an exact date, but didn’t hesitate to say that it would “be out soon.” Not giving away any other details, Nicki then pivoted to tease her press-on nail art company. She also mentioned plans to get back into the TV and film industry and said that she’s talking to a director about a movie.
Bruno Mars has added more dates to his Vegas residency. This is aside from his shows with Anderson .Paak and their band Silk Sonic. The solo run will include 10 more shows scheduled throughout January and February.
Charli XCX is set to star in a comedy by Amazon Studios called “Overcompensating”. It’s being produced by Jonah Hill’s production company, Strong Baby and A24. No release date has been announced, but the show is about an Idaho football player who struggles with his sexuality and ends up overcompensating because of it.
Apple Music has named Bad Bunny its 2022 artist of the year. This is the first time since the awards launched in 2019, that a Latin artist has been recognized. It’s also the first time only one person was named for the award. Past honorees include Billie Eilish, Lil Baby, Megan Thee Stallion, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd.
Dan Levy took 11 attempts to get his driver’s license. The “Schitt’s Creek” creator admitted: “I get very nervous. I turned left when I was supposed to turn right. Got up onto the curb while I parallel parked.”
Tim Allen doesn’t think we’ll see his “Home Improvement” character Tim Taylor again. He told E! News that he put that character to bed in “Last Man Standing”, explaining, “Tim Taylor kind of grew into Mike Baxter, as an actor and as a man.” However, he said he’d love to see a reboot focused on his TV sons, adding, “I think that’d be an amazing piece of television.”
