“Top Gun: Maverick” won Best Picture at the AARP Movies for Grownups Awards, held Saturday at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. The Tom Cruise-starring sequel beat out competition for the marquee award that included fellow Oscar nominees “Elvis”, “Everything Everywhere All at Once”, “The Fabelmans”, “Women Talking” and “The Woman King”.
After passing “Avengers: Infinity War” at the global box office on Thursday, “Avatar: The Way of Water” has now passed “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” for the #4 spot on the all-time box office list. After its seventh Friday in theaters, “Avatar 2” had totals of $608 million domestic and just over $2 billion worldwide.
Amazon Studios has tapped Phoebe Waller-Bridge to write a TV series as part of a potential “Tomb Raider” universe that would span television, film and games. Reportedly, the TV series is in the works from Phoebe, who was a writer on “No Time To Die” and “Solo: A Star Wars Story”.

CNBC is canceling ‘Jay Leno’s Garage’, a show the former late night host has had on television since 2015. TV execs reportedly want to focus on other CNBS shows like ‘Shark Tank’, which comes at a bad time for Jay as he recovers from a motorcycle accident. This is the end of an era for Jay, who has been on the air with NBC for 30 years.

The visual includes a lot of sexualized content, including Sam wearing pasties, causing several right wing pundits to call for the video to be given an age restriction limit on YouTube.
Katy Perry is kicking herself for turning down the chance to work with Billie Eilish. The singer told the crowd at a recent event that a colleague at her Capitol Records encouraged her to link up with the teenage singer. Katy recalled, “It was a song called ‘Ocean Eyes’ and it was just a blonde girl, and I was like ‘Meh, boring.’ Big mistake. Huge mistake!”
