Wes Anderson’s comedy “Asteroid City” is on the roster for the Cannes Film Festival. The annual film festival held in the South of France happens in May and stars included in Anderson’s film include Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Bryan Cranston, and Margot Robbie. The film is set in an imaginary desert community in the mid-1990s and is planned to be released on June 16th.
“The X-Files” is getting rebooted by Ryan Coogler, the director of “Creed” and the “Black Panther” movies. The new version will have a diverse cast.
Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, the Oscar-winning director of “Summer of Soul,” will direct a remake of Disney’s “The Aristocats”. Similar to “Sonic the Hedgehog” and “Space Jam: A New Legacy,” the adaptation of “The Aristocats” will blend live action with CGI. Questlove, the drummer of the Roots, is also executive producing and overseeing music for the film.
Liv Tyler, who played ‘Betty Ross’ in 2008’s “The Incredible Hulk,” is returning to the role in “Captain America: New World Order”. Carl Lumbly, who was last seen as super soldier ‘Isaiah Bradley’ in the Disney+ series “The Falcon and Winter Soldier,” is also co-starring. The film stars Anthony Mackie, who took over Captain America’s shield from Chris Evans. “Captain America: New World Order” is scheduled for release on May 3, 2024.
The Miley Cyrus hit ‘Flowers’ has added an 8th week at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart. Meanwhile, 2 acts have notched their first-ever top-10s: Coi Leray’s ‘Players’ is at #9, while Bailey Zimmerman’s ‘Rock and a Hard Place’ moved up 1 spot to #10.

Eric Clapton has announced a run of North American shows in September, with opening act Jimmie Vaughan. The tour starts in in Pittsburgh on Sept. 8, followed by shows in Toronto, St. Louis, St. Paul MN, and Denver.
The Band Perry is splitting up. The group, comprised of siblings Kimberly, Reid, and Neil Perry revealed the news on its media accounts, saying the 3 “have decided to take a creative break as a group and each focus on our individual creative pursuits.”

Trout is planning to build Trout National – The Reserve, a championship golf course in Vineland, New Jersey, where he was born, and right near his hometown of Millville, and he’s having Tiger Wood design it. Construction is scheduled to begin this year, and they’re planning for a 2025 opening.

Ed Sheeran is planning to tone down his touring schedule by the time his kids are in school. He told Rolling Stone, “I love the way that country artists do it. They do the weekend-warrior thing, where they’ll just go out and play weekends. That’s obviously not possible in America because I live so far away from America. Brad Pitt just sold his mansion in the Hollywood Hills for $39 million dollars. Pitt has owned the estates since 1994 and initially purchased the property for $1.7 million. The estate was built in 1910 by an oil executive and is also famously known as the home where Jimi Hendrix crafted his hit “May This Be Love.”
Mike Fleiss, the creator of the lucrative TV franchise “The Bachelor”, has announced his exit from the reality show after over 20 years of work. The announcement comes on the heels of the show’s season 27 finale.
