After 10 seasons, “The Masked Singer” is getting a panel shake-up — but it should only be temporary. Rita Ora will be stepping in for Nicole Scherzinger for Season 11. The change comes as Nicole prepares to star in the West End revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Sunset Boulevard.”
After NSYNC’s big MTV VMAs reunion, DreamWorks Animation dropped their trailer for the upcoming “Trolls Band Together” movie, featuring a snippet from the group. The single, titled “Better Place,” is NSYNC’s first song in 20 years. “Better Place” is available on September 29, while “Trolls Band Together” premieres in theaters November 17.
Tickets to the 38th annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony are in low demand since they went on last week. Two-thirds of the tickets to see the likes of Kate Bush, Sheryl Crow, Missy Elliott, George Michael, Willie Nelson, Rage Against the Machine and The Spinners get inducted at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on November 3rd are still left.
Ellen DeGeneres will appear on Discovery Channel’s special “Saving the Gorillas: Ellen’s Next Adventure”. Launching September 23, a day before National Gorilla Day, the special “focuses on Ellen’s commitment to saving the gorillas,” according to the network, “and her dream of protecting Dian Fossey’s legacy by building the The Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund in Rwanda, which opened last year.”
Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel are launching a live “Strike Force Five” show in Las Vegas later this month. The one-night-only event, which will take place September 23 at the Dolby Live at Park MGM, will feature the late-night hosts on stage together for the first time. All proceeds from the event will go to staffers of their shows who have been impacted by the ongoing Hollywood strikes.
21 Savage and Cardi B lead this year’s nominations BET Hip-Hop Awards with 12 nods each, while Drake follows with 9. Burna Boy and DJ Khaled each have 7. The 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards will air on the network on October 10.
Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready says their next album is “just about finished”, but fans shouldn’t expect to see it until next year, because there are still “a few tweaks that needs to happen.” The band is working with producer Andrew Watt, whose resume includes albums by Dua Lipa, Post Malone, Justin Bieber, Ozzy Osbourne, Eddie Vedder and The Rolling Stones.
Luke Bryan will host and executive produce the upcoming docuseries “It’s All Country” on Hulu. The 6-part series will examine “the iconic songs and artists that changed the face of country music forever”, to mark the 100th anniversary of the first country music record. No premiere date has been announced.
Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen and Kip Moore are all in the running for the International Artist Achievement Award as part of the 2023 CMA International Awards. The Country Music Association revealed the nominees for all awards. Voting is open now through September 28, and winners will be announced later this year.
Maren Morris and Hozier will headline the next installment of “CMT Crossroads,” which will premiere September 22. “CMT Crossroads: Hozier & Maren Morris” was filmed in Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena last month and will also air on September 23.
Competition series “LEGO Masters” has been renewed for a fifth season, Will Arnett will return as host and executive producer. Additionally, Will will host the second installment of the holiday-themed event special “LEGO Masters: Celebrity Holiday Bricktacular”.
Rob Lowe has been named the host and producer of Fox’s “The Floor”, a new quiz show, created by John de Mol’s Talpa (“Big Brother”, “Deal or No Deal”, “The Voice”). “The Floor” offers a battle of the brains in which 81 contestants stand on 81 squares on a massive game show floor, competing for a $250,000 prize.
The painting that Bob Ross completed on the very first episode of “The Joy of Painting” back in 1983 is on sale for $9.85 million. The gallery that owns it really doesn’t expect it to sell at that price, they just want to take it on tour.
They announced the first round of performers for the inaugural “People’s Choice Country Awards” . . . and it’s tight. It includes Blake Shelton, Jelly Roll, Kelsea Ballerini, Kane Brown, Carly Pearce, Dan + Shay, Toby Keith, and Little Big Town. The show airs September 28th on NBC.
Netflix released a new teaser for the seventh season of its hit animated series “Big Mouth”, and it featured Megan Thee Stallion joining the cast as one of the show’s Hormone Monsters.
“Beetlejuice 2” was almost a wrap before SAG-AFTRA went on strike in July. The film’s director, Tim Burton, told The Independent in a recent interview, “I feel grateful we got what we got. Literally, it was a day and a half. We know what we must do. It is 99 per cent done.”
Paramount+ released the first trailer for the “Frasier” reboot series. Watch as Kelsey Grammer reprises his role as Frasier Crane, who moves back to Boston to be closer to his grown-up son, Frederick, played by Jack Cutmore-Scott. The first two episodes of the new series will premiere on the streaming platform on October 12th.
