The long-awaited new Beatles song “Now and Then” finally arrived. It’s the last recording ever to feature all four Beatles together. The song was taken from an old unreleased demo by John Lennon, with guitar parts recorded by George Harrison during the mid-90’s ‘Anthology’ sessions. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr finished the song last year, using AI technology to separate John’s vocal from the original demo.
Congratulations to 50 Cent. His signature 2003 song, “In Da Club,” has been certified as Diamond by the RIAA. Diamond status indicated ten million copies sold. Fiddy acknowledged the accomplishment on Instagram. He wrote, “In Da Club has officially reached Diamond. !0,000,000 singles sold. The 43rd Hip Hop song to go Diamond, 121 songs of all time to do it. I feel good I’m that thing 50 cent.”
“House of the Dragon” is blazing ahead and setting its season 2 premiere for 2024. During an event at Warner Bros., HBO teased the next chapter in the ongoing “Game of Thrones” prequel saga, which chronicles the great Targaryen civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons. HBO confirms season 2 will be returning summer of next year.
Some big news for fans of “Yellowstone”. The show’s final chapter, the second half of its 5th season, will premiere on Paramount in November 2024, it has been announced. In addition, the “Yellowstone” universe is expanding with another prequel, “1944”. And the previously announced contemporary spinoff series is now expected to carry on with “2024”.
CBS has scored a Super Bowl touchdown in November. The network is “virtually sold out” of all its Super Bowl ad inventory, according to a company spokesperson. CBS has been seeking $6.5 million to $7 million for a 30-second ad, according to those familiar with negotiations.
UC Berkeley is the latest college to announce a course inspired by Taylor Swift. Berkeley will launch “Artistry and Entrepreneurship: Taylor’s Version” in 2024. The course’s syllabus invites students to “fall down a rabbit hole of what has led to Taylor Swift’s prolific success as a songwriter, businesswoman, and creative influence.”
For the first time ever, tonight’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be streamed live on Disney+. Inductees Sheryl Crow, Missy Elliot, Chaka Khan, and Willie Nelson will perform, as well as 1994 Inductee Elton John, 1998 and 2019 Inductee Stevie Nicks, Brandi Carlile, H.E.R., Adam Levine, Dave Matthews, New Edition, Chris Stapleton, St. Vincent, Carrie Underwood, and more.
Mariah Carey is leaning into this whole “Queen of Christmas” thing. Yesterday she unveiled a brand new Christmas shirt. It has a picture of her on it, with the phrase “It’s Time!”. She’s selling it on Amazon, along with some other Christmas merch. It includes her Christmas Funko Pop, a deluxe edition of her “Merry Christmas” album, and her children’s book, “The Christmas Princess (The Adventures of Little Mariah)” . . . which came out last year.
On November 20th, there’s going to be a Super Bowl rematch, with the Kansas City Chiefs taking on the Philadelphia Eagles in KC. And you know what that means: KELCE VS. KELCE! Will Taylor Swift be there? That has yet to be determined. But you KNOW Travis and Jason’s mom Donna Kelce will. And YOU can be, too. Donna has teamed up with Barefoot Wine for a contest where you get to sit with her in her VIP suite during the game. All you must do is like an Instagram post and answer a few questions, like, “What about football and wine are you most looking forward to learning about and why?”
Dolly Parton told “The Hollywood Reporter” that she’s been asked several times to headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show, but she says no because her concerts are not big productions. But that might change with her upcoming “Rockstar” album. She “could do a production show” around that.
New original songs by Zayn Malik will be featured in the upcoming animated movie “10 Lives”, in which the singer voices two characters. He’s also an executive producer on the movie — about a spoiled and selfish cat who takes his many lives for granted — and is overseeing its musical direction.
Green Day has announced that they’ll be hitting the road for a North American stadium tour with the Smashing Pumpkins and a few others. The trek will kick off at the end of July in Washington, D.C. and will go through late September.
Kim Kardashian revealed on Thursday’s episode of The Kardashians that daughter North, 10, prefers her dad Kanye West’s condo over Kim’s $60 million mansion. “North, she’ll go to her Dad’s and she’ll be like, ‘Dad is the best! He has it all figured out. He doesn’t have a nanny, he doesn’t have a chef, he doesn’t have security, he lives in an apartment,'” Kim told Kourtney during a conversation about parenting. “And she’ll start crying, ‘Why don’t you have an apartment?'”
BTS member Jungkook will appear as a guest on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” this coming Monday, November 6th. He’ll sit for an interview with Fallon and perform as the show’s musical guest.
