Noah Kahan and SZA will join Green Day to headline Osheaga in 2024, the music festival announced Wednesday. Noah will hit the Osheaga stage August 2. It’s a return trip for SZA, who was part of the Osheaga lineup in 2015. She’ll headline August 4. Green Day’s debut Osheaga show was announced earlier this month, for “an unforgettable night of pure punk rock bliss,” according to the festival.
Adam Sandler has revealed that his iconic ‘Chanukah Song’ was supposed to have been sung by Roseanne Barr. He introduced The Chanukah Song in 1994 during the “Weekend Update” segment on “SNL”. Although he wrote the holiday tune himself, Adam says Roseanne Barr — who was hosting that week — almost performed the song on the late-night show: “She was nice enough to say ‘no, let Adam do that, that’s his, he wrote it, that’s his song.’”
BTS has announced their forthcoming documentary series “BTS Monuments: Beyond the Star”. The show will air on Disney+ in 8 parts looking at their 10-year career. It premieres on December 10.
U2 bassist Adam Clayton says the band’s next album will definitely rock: “We are turning the amps on. I certainly think the rock that we all grew up with as 16 and 17-year-olds, that rawness of those Patti Smith, Iggy Pop records… that kind of power is something we would love to connect back into.” He also has a suggestion for the record’s title: “Songs For Fighting”.
Eric Clapton’s 1965 Gibson SG guitar, nicknamed ‘The Fool’, sold last week at auction for $1.27 million. Often considered “the most famous guitar of all time”, he played The Fool to find his iconic “woman tone” for Cream’s classics like “Sunshine of Your Love”, “White Room” and “I Feel Free”. Even though the guitar sold for a hefty price, it’s not the most expensive. That title goes to the Martin that Kurt Cobain played on Nirvana’s ‘MTV Unplugged’. It sold at auction for more than $6 million.
50 Cent surprised fans during his “The Final Lap” tour at London’s O2 Arena with a hometown favorite, Ed Sheeran. Fans captured the moment, showing 50 urging the crowd to “turn it up even more” with a massive digital box descending onstage along to the beat of “Shape Of You”. Ed’s voice was heard live in the distance. Then 50 instructs the audience to “put their hands up,” and the boombox lifts to unveil Ed himself.
Singer Mickey Guyton will host the Christmas Tree Lighting, an hour-long CBS special featuring some star-studded performances in Washington, D.C. She’ll be joined by Renée Rapp, Darren Criss, Dionne Warwick, Joe Walsh, and St. Vincent, who will all be performing. The special will air on December 15 on CBS and on Paramount+.
Ludacris is ready to wreck mics again. During an interview with BET, Luda enticed fans with the promise of new music. He said, “Some music projects will be coming out next year. I don’t wanna fake, I don’t wanna stutter-step. It’s definitely some music coming next year, but I don’t know if it’s like an EP or an LP. We’re going to figure it out.”
Fox has released an exciting promo for “MasterChef Junior: Home for the Holidays”, a two-night event airing Sunday, December 10 and concluding Monday, December 11.
