“Shrek 5” will be released on July 1, 2026, with original cast members Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, and Cameron Diaz reprising their roles. This will be the first new installment in 16 years. Donkey is also getting a spinoff film.

Usher emerged at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium for the Super Bowl halftime show last year. New Orleans is set to host Super Bowl LIX on February 9, 2025.
Taylor Swift keeps the surprises coming! Taylor dropped a new acoustic version of her “The Tortured Poets Department” song “Fortnight” featuring Post Malone. The stripped-down version features the two singers trading vocals over a shimmery, unplugged arrangement.
Paramount has released the first “Gladiator 2” trailer, offering a look at Ridley Scott’s long-promised sequel to his Best Picture-winning 2000 film. Russell Crowe is out, and Paul Mescal is in, playing the grown son of Connie Nielsen’s character from the first film, ‘Lucius’. It’ll be in theaters November 22.
Katy Perry will not only release her hotly anticipated new single ‘Woman’s World’ tomorrow, but she also has a racy new collab with Kim Petras on the way. The song has been called “a tongue-in-cheek track which is sure to raise a few eyebrows”, and will appear on Katy’s upcoming 7th studio album, which is rumored to be called “143”, internet slang for “I Love You”.
Queens of the Stone Age have scheduled a concert at the Catacombs of Paris. Josh Homme made the announcement during a press conference at Hellfest 2024, claiming QOTSA will be the first band to play there after he spent “18 years” trying to book it. The Catacombs are an underground site dating back to the 1700s, which hold the remains of more than 6 million people.
Duran Duran has announced tour dates for this fall. The shows are built around the group’s annual “Danse Macabre” Halloween show at New York’s Madison Square Garden. Seven shows are scheduled in that region starting October 21 in Allentown PA.
Rod Stewart has no plans to retire – ever. His wife Penny Lancaster told HELLO! magazine that the 79-year-old “loves what he does so much and will never retire.” Penny also said that she struggles “to keep up with his training schedule. He works out 3 or 4 four times a week – even on tour.”

A new documentary on Lilith Fair, the groundbreaking all-female music festival in the 90s, is coming to the CBC in 2025. The forthcoming rock doc is simply called Lilith Fair, and the authorized film is based on the 2019 Vanity Fair article, “Building a Mystery: An Oral History of Lilith Fair”. The film will feature interview segments with festival founder Sarah McLachlan, along with Sheryl Crow, Bonnie Raitt, Natalie Merchant, Jewel, and Olivia Rodrigo.
The Recording Industry Association of America has recently bestowed AC/DC’s back catalog with an array of new platinum certifications. The most eye-catching of all of those new sales distinctions is that the legendary Australian hard rock band’s 1980 album, “Back In Black”, has been certified as a 26 times platinum-selling album.
Joe Rogan’s third Netflix stand-up special, “Joe Rogan: Burn The Boats”, will be broadcast live on the streaming service August 3 at 10pm. This marks a departure from Rogan’s previous specials, which have all been pre-recorded.
Oscar-winner Viola Davis and bestselling author James Patterson will collaborate on a novel called “Judge Stone”, set in the contemporary rural South. The book will focus on a powerful female judge facing a critical decision with far-reaching consequences. The novel is slated for release in 2025 or 2026 and will be available in hardcover, ebook, and audiobook editions.
The fourth “Conjuring” movie will arrive September 5, 2025, marking the end of the main film series. The franchise, starring Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as supernatural investigators, has earned over $2 billion globally.
The Kid Laroi will perform at the 2024 Kids’ Choice Awards, airing live on multiple Nickelodeon channels on July 13. He will do a medley including hits like “Nights Like This” & “Stay,” and it will all end with an “epic sliming.”
Ellen Pompeo, who has played Meredith Grey since 2005, will return for at least seven episodes in the upcoming season of “Grey’s Anatomy”. Her role as the show’s primary narrator will continue, providing continuity for viewers.
