“Alien: Romulus” got off to a good start at the box office, earning $41 million opening weekend domestically. Disney’s other R-rated offering, Marvel Studios’ “Deadpool & Wolverine,” is now the highest grossing film ever with that rating, passing “Joker” as it earned an estimated $28 million in its 4th weekend.
Emmy Award–winning father-and-son duo Eugene Levy and Dan Levy will host the 76th Emmy Awards on ABC, the Television Academy announced Friday. The awards will air live from the Peacock Theater at L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles on September 15 on ABC. Major nominations for this year’s event include FX’s hit chef series “The Bear”, which broke the comedy series record with 23 nominations.
Paris Hilton’s glam trailer burned down on the set of her new music video ‘Bad Bitch Academy’. She fortunately walked away unharmed. Kevin Costner’s passion project, the epic Western “Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1,” has been a disaster at the box office — but it’s still getting a premiere date on Max, hitting the streamer on August 23. Kevin wrote, directed, and starred in the first installment of his new Western film series, which premiered in June, making only $32 million on a $100 million budget.
Coldplay’s current “The Music of the Spheres World Tour” is officially the top-selling and highest-grossing tour by a rock act ever. Boxscore reports the tour has taken in $945.7 million and sold 8.8 million tickets since launching in March 2022.
The first trailer is out for upcoming documentary “Paul McCartney and Wings – One Hand Clapping”, which hits theaters on September 26. It follows the band during recording sessions that took place in 1974 at Abbey Road Studios for an album, which wasn’t released until June 2024.

Taylor Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department” claims the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart for the 15th total week. It ties Carole King’s “Tapestry” for the third-most weeks spent at No. 1 among albums by women, with Carole’s masterpiece spending 15 weeks at No. 1 back in 1971. Only Adele’s “21” (24 weeks in 2011-12) and Whitney Houston’s soundtrack to “The Bodyguard” (20 weeks in 1992-93) have spent more weeks as the No. 1 album among women.
Dakota Johnson was seen in Malibu wearing her engagement ring amid rumors of a split from Chris Martin. The sighting came after speculation of a breakup, but a spokesperson confirmed that the couple is “happily together.”
