Halsey revealed the release date of her new album “The Great Impersonator” — after sending fans on a scavenger hunt. She tweeted that it would arrive October 25, writing: “I made this record in the space between life and death.” The post came in response to fans tracking down the mystery location of one of 5-time capsules hidden in cities all over the world, based on clues she had posted.
The ghost with the most is set to inject a little life into the sluggish box office. “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” the sequel to Tim Burton’s 1988 film about a pesky poltergeist, is eyeing a huge $100-110 million opening weekend. Based on those estimated ticket sales, it could rank alongside 2017’s “It” ($123 million) and 2019’s “It: Chapter 2” ($91 million) as the biggest September debuts of all time.

Eddie Vedder teamed up with AC/DC bassist Chris Chaney, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and others for a cover of Tom Petty’s ‘Room at the Top’, which will appear on the soundtrack album for the new Apple TV+ show “Bad Monkey”, starring Vince Vaughn. Also recording Tom Petty songs for the collection, out October 4, are Weezer, The War On Drugs, Kurt Vile, and others.

Linkin Park announced their new singer yesterday . . . and it’s a woman. Her name is Emily Armstrong, and she comes from the band Dead Sarah. She joins Mike Shinoda, Joe Hahn, Brad Delson, Dave “Phoenix” Pharrell, and new drummer Colin Brittain. And yes, they already have an album ready. It’s called “From Zero”, and it drops November 15. The first single, “The Emptiness Machine”, came out yesterday.
The lineup for next year’s Stagecoach Festival in California was just released and it packs a serious punch. Zach Bryan, Jelly Roll, and Luke Combs are the headliners. The festival takes place April 25 to April 27, 2025.
Paramount+ has announced a limited series about the unsolved murder of JonBenét Ramsey, with Melissa McCarthy and Clive Owen set to play the child beauty pageant contestant’s parents. The eight-episode series, with the working title “JonBenét Ramsey”, will be executive produced by showrunner Richard LaGravanesse and Melissa, among others.
Peacock has ordered a comedic mystery series titled “The Burbs”, based on the 1989 film. Keke Palmer will star as one-half of a married couple whose quiet neighborhood is disrupted by new neighbors and dangerous secrets.
Fox’s drama series “9-1-1: Lone Star” will conclude with its upcoming Season 5, set to premiere on September 23, with the series finale planned for early 2025. Despite some rumors, Fox had not confirmed the cancellation until now.
South Park is taking a break until 2025, with its Matt Stone and Trey Parker stating that they do not want to satirize Donald Trump anymore and will avoid the election. It’s the first year off for the show since it launched in 1997.
