The Primetime Emmy Awards were held last night in Los Angeles, honoring television’s biggest stars. “The Bear” stars Jeremy Allen White and Ebon Moss-Bachrach won lead and supporting actor in a comedy, while “Hacks” star Jean Smart won lead actress in a comedy.
Miranda Lambert and Keith Urban will both perform at the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards. Other performers announced for the show, airing on NBC on September 26, are Kane Brown, Kelsea Ballerini, Lady A, Parker McCollum, and The War and Treaty. Shania Twain will host.
The cult classic film “Tom Petty: Heartbreakers Beach Party” will screen for the first time ever in theaters on October 17 and 20. The movie, Cameron Crowe’s directorial debut, had been “lost” for years, after airing once on MTV, and pirated versions have been sought by fans since.
“It Ends With Us” continues to make history at the box office. The film adaptation of Colleen Hoover‘s bestseller about a woman whose fairy-tale marriage turns abusive has amassed more than $300 million in global ticket sales, to become the top-grossing romantic drama since 2018’s Oscar-nominated “A Star is Born”, which earned $436 million.
Sadly, as we know, British tabloids can’t always be trusted. Last week there was a rumor that a “Goonies” sequel was in the works . . . well, some of the cast have shut it down. Corey Feldman said, quote, “Everyone is asking . . . I can officially tell u 100% no! I have no info that a sequel is in the works.”
Garth Brooks just announced that his Las Vegas residency is coming to an end next year. His final shows will be three weekends between Feb 21 and March 9. “Garth Brooks / Plus One” is currently taking place at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace through the rest of this year.
Back in June, Dolly Parton announced she was launching her own wine brand called “Dolly Wines” . . . and now, the first one is finally available. The Dolly Wines Chardonnay is now available at Kroger, Total Wine & More, Meijer, H-E-B, and Cost Plus World Market along with Vivino at DollyWines.com. The suggested retail price is $14.99 a bottle.
Justin Timberlake pled guilty to a reduced charge in his DWI case in Sag Harbor, New York. The pop superstar pleaded guilty to the charge of “driving while ability impaired,” after initially being charged with a misdemeanor count of driving while intoxicated. His license had already been suspended in New York, and he was also ordered by the judge to pay a $500 fine along with performing 25-40 hours community service.
“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” retained its top position at the box office in its second weekend, raking in an estimated $51.6 million and approaching the $200 million milestone. “Speak No Evil”, a new horror-thriller, also made a strong start, debuting in second place with an estimated $11.5 million.
Kendall Jenner and NBA star Devin Booker were seen together over the weekend at dinner in a restaurant in Miami, sparking rumors of a reconciliation following their previous relationship.
Kevin Hart’s vegan fast-food chain, “Hart House”, has closed all four of its locations after two years. The Los Angeles-based restaurants offered a menu of plant-based burgers, sandwiches, nuggets, salads & milkshakes.
Taylor Swift surprised fans by releasing a new version of ‘I Can Do It With a Broken Heart’ on Friday. The Dombresky remix of the song from “The Tortured Poets Department” is available to stream now. Taylor Nation wrote on Instagram: “The I Can Do It With A Broken Heart (@dombresky Remix) is out now and it’s for when you realize everything is going to be okay.”
