The Weeknd gave fans a holiday treat. He announced that his new album, “Hurry Up Tomorrow”, will arrive on January 24, 2025. The album will complete the trilogy that includes 2020’s “After Hours” and 2022’s “Dawn FM”. The Weeknd will celebrate the album’s release with a concert at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, on January 25.
Pink’s “Summer Carnival Tour” is now the second-highest grossing tour by a female artist ever – behind…you know who. Billboard reports that after 128 shows over a year and a half, Pink grossed $694 million, with 4.8 million tickets sold. Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” has grossed more than $1 billion but isn’t officially over yet.
A guitar played by George Harrison during the Beatles’ early years has sold for $1.27 million. Julien’s Auctions originally priced the guitar between $600,000-800,000. Harrison purchased the Resonet Futurama in 1959 at a Liverpool music store for £58 (US$73).
U2’s The Edge said the band is working on new music, which has an Irish folk element, and could appear on their next album. “Bono and I are working on some crazy kind of sci-fi Irish folk music”, whatever that means. They’ve just released “How to Re-Assemble an Atomic Bomb”, containing unreleased sessions from 2004.
Morgan Wallen made his first public appearance since being named CMA Entertainer of the Year last week. On Tuesday night, he took the stage alongside Ernest, who opened for Jelly Roll’s “Beautifully Broken Tour” stop in Nashville. It is rare for opening acts to have a guest artist of Morgan’s status, but he and Ernest are close friends. The crowd LOVED the surprise.
The 2025 “Dancing with the Tours: Live Tour” just got much better! Following the season 33 finale, it was announced that the final four contestants will join the lineup for the upcoming tour on select dates. “Moana 2” amassed a record-shattering $13.8 million in Tuesday previews, the biggest preview number ever for a Walt Disney Animation title and the second biggest for any animated film, behind “Incredibles 2’s” $18.5 million. That’s quite a feat, considering that the “Incredibles” sequel opened in the summer.
Sarah Michelle Gellar has teased that she will be appearing in the “I Know What You Did Last Summer” legacy sequel. The actress starred as the ill-fated Helen Shivers in the 1997 slasher film and has now seemingly confirmed her return on Instagram. While she had a starring role in the original film, she recently insisted she would not be in the sequel, telling PEOPLE: “I am dead!” It has been confirmed that her husband Freddie Prinze Jr. will be reprising his role as Ray Bronson.
After 20 years, the creator of “Desperate Housewives” wants to make a prequel series. Following the hit ABC series’ milestone anniversary last month, Marc Cherry, the 2-time Emmy-nominated exec-producer and showrunner recently shared his vision for a reboot. He pondered: “I wonder if I could write Wisteria Lane in like, 1966.’”
Following a lengthy countdown spanning several months, Billboard has announced Beyonce is the “greatest pop star of the 21st century”. Bey’s game-changing 2013 self-titled album, a surprise release that ushered in a new era of visual albums, was noted a key factor in her nabbing the top spot.
Cher is working on a new album, and according to her, it’s “probably my last album that I’m gonna do.” The diva said she’s “excited” that she’s working on her first new record since 2013, in fact, she’s “really excited to be doing anything now.” The 78-year-old also cracked: “I’m older than dirt now, O.K.? I’m the oldest person I meet in almost every room unless I’m in an old folks’ home.”
Blue Oyster Cult’s Buck Dharma says that after the legendary “SNL” “More Cowbell” sketch that lampooned the song ‘(Don’t Fear) The Reaper’, the band was forced to ban fans from bringing their own cowbells to shows. It also forced the group to once again use a cowbell when playing the song live.
