Wicked is officially the highest-grossing Broadway adaptation in global box office history, overtaking 2008’s Mamma Mia.The Jon M Chu-directed Wicked has generated $634 million worldwide after six weeks of release while Mamma Mia earned $611 million by the end of its box office run. The sequel, Wicked: For Good opens in 2025.
The biggest films of the holiday season battled for the top spot. Mufasa: The Lion King scored a win with $63.9 million in North American ticket sales from Christmas Day (Wednesday) through Sunday. Sonic The Hedgehog 3 pulled in $59.8 million for the five-day period, landing in second place.

Several people connected to Liam Payne’s death are facing formal charges in Argentina. Among them is Liam’s friend Roger Nores who left Liam at the CasaSur Palermo hotel about an hour before his death. Authorities have charged him with negligent homicide. Braian Paiz, a waiter who admitted to using drugs, including cocaine, with Payne, was charged with supplying narcotics for payment. CasaSur employee Ezequiel Pereyra was also charged with supplying narcotics with cops saying each gave Liam drugs. Hotel managers Gilda Martín and Esteban Grassi have also reportedly been charged with manslaughter. All five have been summoned to appear in court.
Paramore’s Hayley Williams has teased her first solo tour. She shared on her IG stories on Friday, “I’m going to try and finally play some shows next year that would’ve happened nearly 5 years ago now. That is, if the world doesn’t f***ing stop before then. Here’s hoping.” Williams was referring to 2020, when she was supposed to take her debut solo album, ‘Petals for Armor’, out on the road, but couldn’t due to the pandemic.
Mike Tyson has admitted to ‘Fox Sports’ that he felt ‘depressed a little bit’ after losing his November 15th boxing match to Jake Paul. The match was the most-streamed sporting event ever, with 108 million tuning in to see the fight on Netflix.
Drake wanted to make people’s dreams come true, and Jeff Bezos stopped it. Drake wanted to expand on the philanthropic nature of the 2018 “God’s Plan” video by doing a television show. During his Drizzmas holiday live stream where he gave away prizes, Drake said, “This is a thing that I wanted to do ever since I shot that [‘God’s Plan’] video. I asked Jeff Bezos… The word I got back is that he didn’t want to do it.”

Nearly 2 in 10 will be celebrating at a friend or family member’s home, and just 5% plan to go out to celebrate at a bar, restaurant, or organized event, the poll found.
Elle King found herself in hot water earlier this year after her performance at a Dolly Parton tribute at the Grand Ole Opry. The singer (and daughter of Rob Schneider) was intoxicated during the show, slurring her way through Dolly’s song “Marry Me” and announcing that she was “drunk as s**t.” Elle King addresses the incident in a new song called “Banned from the Grand Ole Opry.”
Moviegoers will have to wait a little longer to return to Gotham City, as Matt Reeves’ follow-up to The Batman has been pushed back until 2027.
Keanu Reeves doesn’t have to wonder about the location of his stolen watches anymore. The timepieces, including a $9,000 Rolex, were stolen from Reeves’ Los Angeles home in 2023. Police in Santiago, Chile, discovered the stolen watches during a series of raids on Saturday.
