Miley Cyrus’ new album “Something Beautiful” drops May 30, but she hosted a VIP screening of the visual album for her top Spotify fans in New York, including a Q&A. She said the album covers “a spectrum of beauty”, incorporating “heartbreak and loss, or death or pain — but sometimes it’s flowers and rainbows, and new love.”
Peacock has announced the series pickup of the new comedy “Dig” from Amy Poehler and Mike Schur. The plot has four women working at an archeological dig in Greece and are at wildly different crossroads in their lives. When the team uncovers a long-buried secret with the potential to rewrite history, they find themselves at the center of a high-stakes international conspiracy.
The nominations for the BET Awards were announced on Thursday. To no one’s surprise, Kendrick Lamar leads the way with ten nominations. Doechii, Drake, Future, and GloRilla follow with six nominations each, while Metro Boomin collected five and SZA and The Weeknd got four. The BET Awards will be hosted by Kevin Hart and take place on June 9.
Kendrick Lamar is potentially working on new material. K. Dot was spotted entering a New York City recording studio on Wednesday. While we don’t know what Kendrick is doing, his “TV Off” collaborator Lefty Gunplay previously mentioned a deluxe edition of GNX might be in the works. Lefty said, “I know he’s got a deluxe version coming out. He’s very secretive.”
The Weeknd’s “Hurry Up Tomorrow” film hits theaters on May 16, and he revealed that his sleep paralysis diagnosis played a role in inspiring the movie. “There are no antagonists in this film,” he said. “I think that sleep paralysis is the enemy. One of the main concepts of this film is sleep paralysis.”
This is one complicated family. Miley’s mom Tish is no longer following her famous daughter on Instagram. A quick search confirms Miley’s MIA from Tish’s following list, and it appears that it has something to do with Billy Ray posting about Miley. He teased that he’s patching things up with Miley and can’t wait to see her soon. However, a source told Page Six that Tish has since refollowed Miley, saying, “It was a glitch. There’s no drama.”
The Who announced, “The Song Is Over – North American Farewell Tour”, which Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend are calling “a truly grand finale” for their 6-decade career. The goodbye begins August 16 in Sunrise FL, and 16 shows are scheduled in the US plus 2 in Toronto and one in Vancouver, ending September 28 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Bryan Adams will drop his new album “Roll With The Punches” on August 29. The new collection will come on vinyl, CD – plus a 2-disc version complete with an acoustic CD, and a deluxe box set. He has just dropped the third single ‘Never Ever Let You Go’, along with a new video featuring Elizabeth Hurley.
Sheryl Crow will headline Calgary’s 35th annual corporate party Oxford Stomp on July 11. She’ll be joined by The Sheepdogs, Dear Rouge, and Hotel Mira. Oxford Stomp supports the Calgary Food Bank.
Lainey Wilson shared a snippet of a new song she’s been working on. Deep into a carousel of pics, she posted the clip, writing, “My heads 30,000 feet in the clouds.” An accompanying photo shows her seated in an airplane.
Brie Larson is releasing a cookbook with her best friend, a chef named Courtney McBroom. It’s called “Party People”, and it won’t just be about the recipes. It’s also about entertaining. Brie says, quote, “It’s about knowing how to cook things confidently so that you can enjoy your party. “The recipes are based off of those things so you can maximize time with your guests and not feel like you’re the one stuck in the kitchen while everybody else is having fun.”
Gollum’s return to the big screen has officially been confirmed for Christmas 2027, with Warner Bros. announcing that Andy Serkis’ “The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum” will premiere on December 17, 2027. Andy, who also directs the film, reprises his iconic role as Gollum through motion capture technology.
Sebastian Stan and Leo Woodall will star in “Burning Rainbow Farm”, a true-life thriller by Justin Kurzel about a gay couple in Michigan who create a pot-friendly utopia called Rainbow Farm. A standoff with authorities unfolds, leading to a dramatic siege involving police and the FBI.
NBC has renewed “Law & Order: SVU” for a 27th season and “Law & Order” for a 25th season for 2025-26. The franchises, from producer Dick Wolf, have a combined total of 1,096 episodes. Both shows are viewer favorites, with “SVU” averaging 5.9 million viewers and “Law & Order” averaging 5.2 million on linear ratings.
Gretchen Wilson won “The Masked Singer” Season 13, beating Andy Grammer, Meg Donnelly, and Brian Kelley. She performed in the Pearl costume singing various songs. Nick Cannon hosted the show, with Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Robin Thicke, and Rita Ora as panelists. The show will return for a 14th season on FOX in January.
Most of country music’s biggest stars were hanging out in Frisco, Texas for the 60th Annual ACM Awards, except this guy. Morgan Wallen is not one for award shows even though he was nominated for 7 ACMs including a few big categories like Entertainer of the Year. Instead, Morgan was hitting golf balls with Tom Brady.
Hoda Kotb could be back on television. According to Page Six, Hoda is on the list of people who could take over Kelly Clarkson’s talk show time slot should she choose to step down. Kelly’s contract with NBC ends next year, and there are rumors that she wants to exit the talk show game.
