Janet Jackson will receive the Icon Award at the upcoming American Music Awards in Las Vegas. She will also perform on broadcast television for the first time since 2018. Conveniently, Janet is already set up for success because she’ll already be in Vegas performing her residency the same week as the AMAs. The American Music Awards will air on CBS on May 26.
The Cannes Film Festival’s new rules about nude and flamboyant attire have affected Halle Berry’s wardrobe. Halle said she had to change the dress she was going to wear to the opening night gala. She explained, “I had an amazing dress by Gupta that I cannot wear because it’s too big of a train.” The Festival announced a ban on outfits that were “excessively voluminous,” like her long train. The ban also covered nude attire. Halle added, “I’m not going to break the rules. The nudity part is also probably a good rule.”
Paramount+ has revealed schedules for four Taylor Sheridan shows, including Season 2 of “Landman” and a new “Yellowstone” spin-off called “Dutton Ranch”. Also revealed were premiere dates for “Tulsa King” Season 3 and “Mayor of Kingstown” Season 4. “Landman” just started filming this spring, and it’s set or a November premiere. “Tulsa King” will resume in 2025, with a September premiere planned. Season 4 of “Mayor of Kingstown” will begin in October.

Tyra Banks is back on top of her “America’s Next Top Model” throne. The supermodel is set to make rare comments in a Netflix documentary about the history of “America’s Next Top Model”. Details about the project are being kept under wraps including other participants and the release date. Tyra launched the show in 2003. It ran for 24 seasons, with her serving as the main judge for all but one.
Farm Aid’s 40th anniversary concert has announced its lineup. Headliners Neil Young, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews, and Margo Price will help festival founder Willie Nelson raise funds and awareness for American farmers in Minneapolis on September 20. The lineup also includes Billy Strings, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Trampled by Turtles, and Eric Burton of Black Pumas.
Shakira told Jimmy Fallon that her smash hit ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ almost didn’t make it onto the album. She had completed work on 2005’s “Oral Fixation, Vol. 2”, but then got into the studio with Wylcef Jean, and they knew they had a hit on their hands. Jude Law and Andrew Garfield are set to executive produce and play Las Vegas showman-magicians Siegfried and Roy in the new limited series “Wild Things”. Based on the Apple original podcast “Wild Things: Siegfried & Roy”, the 8-episode series “tells the wild ride relationship tale of 2 of the greatest showman-magicians in history who, along with their white tigers, are tasked with turning Sin City into a family-friendly destination”.
Doja Cat said her new album “Vie” will “fully encapsulate” the ’70s and ’80s – with some modern twists. Doja admitted she has done songs in the past just to be popular, and this time wanted to experiment with the genres that she loves, including jazz, neo soul, indie and rock music. The album is expected by summer.
The 59th Annual CMA Awards will take place on November 19 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena . . . and the eligibility period to win a CMA is from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025.
Krysten Ritter will return as Jessica Jones in Disney+’s “Daredevil: Born Again” season 2. The news was announced at Disney’s Upfront in NYC after rumors had been circulated online for months. She originally played Jessica Jones in the hit Netflix series from 2015 to 2019.
The CW has acquired U.S. broadcast rights for Canadian drama “Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent”. The series, based on Dick Wolf’s iconic format, features detectives investigating high-profile homicides using psychological tactics in Toronto. The show will premiere on The CW in the fall.
Jesse Tyler Ferguson shared a humorous mishap from his acting past on his podcast, recounting how snorting powdered milk during a play caused a “yeast infection in his nose.” The incident occurred during an Off-Broadway play with his podcast guest Luke Macfarlane, including scenes involving simulated drug use and nudity.
