The class will focus on Bad Bunny’s music and the political and socioeconomic forces that influenced his development in Puerto Rico. The course is part of Emory’s Latinx Studies Initiative, which aims to address issues relevant to Hispanic communities in the U.S.
“Wicked” won’t be the last modern retelling of “The Wizard of Oz”. Prime Video is developing “Dorothy”, a contemporary retelling of the story in series form, from producers Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton. Deadline describes Dorothy as “a contemporary, music-infused retelling of The Wizard of Oz based on L. Frank Baum’s books, using the Yellow Brick Road as a metaphor for the challenges and choices facing young adults today.”

Netflix is taking another run at “Trainwreck”, the documentary franchise that delivered films including “Poop Cruise”, which told the story of how a luxury cruise proved catastrophic for its 4,000 passengers after raw sewage leaked all over the ship. Netflix and Raw Television have not decided on the topics that will make up the second run, but they will similarly feature a range of topics from music, politics and pop culture that feature “chaotic moments.”

John Malkovich has been cast as a series regular in Season 2 of the Apple TV+ comedy series “Bad Monkey”. He will star alongside Vince Vaughn, who is also the executive producer. NBC has renewed Jimmy Fallon’s game show, “Password”, for a third season. The show, hosted by Jimmy and Keke Palmer, features contestants competing for a $25,000 bonus prize. The second season premiered in March 2024 and reached over 32 million viewers.
