Director Antoine Fuqua is opening up about the massive responsibility of bringing the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic to the big screen. He calls the film a “spiritual journey” that is both professional and deeply personal. The director wants to show the human being behind the “larger than life” image. He plans to focus on Michael’s internal struggle. “Michael” is officially set to moonwalk into theaters worldwide on April 24.
March 4, Cher will be one of the keynote speakers at the National Conference for Women, a virtual all-day event. Her keynote will come in the form of a conversation with journalist/author Lisa Ling. The event will also feature virtual addresses from Jordan Chiles, Cynthia Erivo, Nicole Kidman, and Hoda Kotb.
Sammy Hagar posted a video of him working out his set list as he gets set to return to Vegas next month, with the caption, “We’re trying to do a different show every night.” In the clip, he reveals he has a master set list of 36 songs, “And every night we’re gonna try and open with a different song. Rush has extended their upcoming “Fifty Something” reunion tour into 2027. The new dates, all part of a South America, UK, and European run, begin in January and run through April. They also announced they will be joined on the road by keyboardist Loren Gold, who worked as a touring bandmember with The Who and Chicago.
Jung Kook of BTS is the new global brand ambassador for Calvin Klein. The spring 2026 denim campaign focuses on 90s styles, including Straight, Baggy, and new interpretations of the Trucker jacket. The creative features Jung Kook dancing and exploring a record store while showcasing the versatility of Calvin Klein denim, set to an iconic soundtrack that includes Kenny Loggins’ “Footloose”.
Billboard revealed the honorees for its 2026 Women in Music Awards, set for April 29 at Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. Teyana Taylor will receive the Visionary Award after earning a Grammy nomination for her 2025 album, a Golden Globe win for her role in One Battle After Another, and an Oscar nomination. Tate McRae will be presented the Hitmaker Award following her first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit, “What I Want,” with Morgan Wallen, while Ella Langley will get the Powerhouse Award after scoring her first No. 1 with “Choosin’ Texas”.
Other honorees include Kehlani receiving the Impact Award, Laufey getting the Innovator Award, Mariah the Scientist earning the Rising Star Award, Zara Larsson winning the Breakthrough Award, and Thalia taking the Icon Award. Keke Palmer will host the ceremony. “This year’s honorees represent bold creativity, global influence and artistic excellence across genres,” said Billboard’s Jason Lipshutz.
Katherine Hartley Short, daughter of comedian Martin Short, has died at age 42. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a Hollywood Hills residence on February 23rd at 6:41 p.m. regarding a possible suicide. Katherine was adopted by Martin Short and his late wife Nancy Dolman. She was a social worker and earned degrees from NYU and USC.
MGM+ has renewed “Robin Hood” for a second, expanded season following strong first-season performance. The series stars Jack Patten, Lauren McQueen, and Sean Bean. The show ranks among the network’s best first-season performers. Season two will move beyond Sherwood and Nottingham, taking the story into the royal courts of England, France, and Rome.
Aimee Lou Wood will star in a new television adaptation of Charlotte Bront?’s “Jane Eyre”. The script is being written by Succession writer Miriam Battye, and a U.K. broadcaster is in advanced talks to join the project. Bront?’s 1847 novel follows Jane Eyre as she matures and falls in love with Mr. Rochester, exploring themes of class and independence.
Tim Daly has joined the NBC comedy pilot “Newlyweds” alongside his real-life wife Tea Leoni. The couple, who married in July 2025 after meeting on CBS drama “Madam Secretary”, will portray on-screen spouses in the show. The series follows a free-spirited woman and buttoned-up professor who marry after a whirlwind courtship.
