The 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominees have been announced. Among those up for consideration this year are The Black Crowes, INXS, Phil Collins, and Billy Idol. Also, from the rock camp are Iron Maiden, Oasis, Melissa Etheridge, and Joy Division/New Order. Other nominees include Jeff Buckley, Mariah Carey, Lauryn Hill, Pink, Sade, Shakira, Luther Vandross, Wu-Tang Clan. The 2026 induction ceremony will take place in the fall.
Ryan Coogler’s “X-Files” reboot has officially gotten a pilot order at Hulu. Here’s an official description: “Two highly decorated but vastly different FBI agents form an unlikely bond when they are assigned to a long-shuttered division devoted to cases involving unexplained phenomena.” In February 2024, “X-Files” creator Chris Carter gave Ryan his blessing to move forward with the series, noting that he won’t be involved, but will be its “cheerleader”.
Reports say that Bruno Mars, who’s been performing at the Dolby Theater at Park MGM in Las Vegas on and off since 2016, will have a street named after him. Apparently, Park Avenue, which runs between the Park MGM and the T-Mobile Arena, will be renamed “Bruno Mars Drive”. No word on when, but he will kick off his “The Romantic” tour April 10 at Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium.
RAYE dropped a new tune, but her TikTok followers have already heard some of it. She posted a video of herself lip-synching to the ballad while wearing a black dress and a veil. She captioned it, “The 2nd song from my 2nd album,” adding #NightingaleLane. The song will appear on her upcoming album “This Music May Contain Hope”, out March 27.
Pink is booked to headline Curebound Concert for Cures, May 15 at Petco Park in San Diego. The show benefits Curebound, which funds cancer research. Previous performers at the event include Elton John, Ed Sheeran, and Alicia Keys. To date, Curebound has awarded $51.5 million in cancer research grants.
This weekend, the 2025 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Salt-N-Pepa and DJ Spinderella will be inducted into the NAACP Image Awards Hall of Fame, for those “who have been pioneers in their respective fields and whose influence continues to shape their industry.” The 57th NAACP Image Awards will air live on Saturday on BET and CBS.
The Cars and Sting songs will make an appearance in Netflix’s “Bridgerton”. The final 4 episodes of season 4 premiere today, with episode 6 featuring instrumental versions of The Cars’ ‘Just What I Needed’ and Sting’s ‘Fields of Gold’. Season 4 has also featured instrumentals of songs by Coldplay, Third Eye Blind, Paramore, Taylor Swift, Charli XCX and Billie Eilish, and Teddy Swims.
U2 has released a documentary short for their new song ‘Yours Eternally’, which appears on their just-released EP “Days of Ash”. The song features Ed Sheeran and Ukrainian musician-turned-soldier Taras Topolia. The 4? minute clip was released to mark the 4th anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and is part of a full documentary that will be released at the end of the year.
Darius Rucker has just announced his “Songs of Summer Tour”. The 20-city run kicks off June 4 in Toledo OH, and wraps August 1 in Indianapolis. Lauren Alaina, George Birge, Evan Honer, Old Crow Medicine Show, Robert Randolph, and Austin Williams will join him along the way.
Walker Hayes really does like Applebee’s, but enough is enough. The singer, known for his hit ‘Fancy Like’, which sings the praises of a night at the restaurant, was asked recently if he still uses the Applebee’s gold card given to him by the chain, which gives him free food for life. “Applebee’s was so good to us, but you know, you fatigue of a restaurant, you know what I mean?”
Metallica is heading to the Sphere in Las Vegas for a residency with “no repeat weekends”. The band’s “Life Burns Faster” residency at the Sphere will be an eight-show run taking place on October 1 and 3, 15 and 17, 22 and 24, and 29 and 31. The concerts will continue the no repeat tradition that began with the 2023 kick-off of the band’s “M72 World Tour”, with no songs repeated on each Thursday and Saturday throughout the course of the run.
Disney’s “Zootopia 2” has officially hopped to the top of the charts as the highest-grossing domestic release of 2025. The animated sequel has now earned more than $424 million in North America, narrowly overtaking “A Minecraft Movie” to claim the number one spot for the year. It is shattering records on a global scale as well, becoming the fastest PG-rated movie in history to cross the one-billion-dollar mark, reaching that milestone in just 17 days.
Montreal’s Osheaga Festival 2026 is coming this summer. The festival features a diverse lineup of 87 performers, including headliners Twenty-One Pilots, Tate McRae, and Lorde. The xx, Gunna, Major Lazer, Sombr, Turnstile, Geese, Kehlani, and many more will take the stage starting on July 31.
Peacock is developing a TV series based on the 2009 film “Bride Wars” with Emma Roberts as star and executive producer. The project represents a “fresh, loose reimagining”. Unlike the original movie featuring Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway as competing brides, this version centers on rival wedding planners.
Matt Dillon will headline and executive produce MGM+’s new eight-episode drama “The Magnificent Seven”. The series reimagines the 1960 Western classic. Matt plays Chris Adams, leader of seven gunslingers defending a peaceful Quaker village from a ruthless land baron in the 1880s American frontier. Production begins in June 2026 in Calgary.
HBO has renewed “Industry” for a fifth and final season. The drama will air its Season 4 finale March 1 on HBO and HBO Max. Season 4 has averaged 1.7 million viewers per episode, about 30% higher than Season 3.
Streamer Adin Ross bought the Albuquerque; New Mexico home featured in “Breaking Bad” for $1.3 million. TMZ confirmed the sale of the four-bedroom property, known as “Walter White’s house,” which was first listed for $4 million in January 2025 before dropping to $400,000. Ross plans to recreate the home “just how you see it in the show.”
NBC has chosen Jake Johnson to headline a new comedy pilot about a Los Angeles private investigator from “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” creators Dan Goor and Luke Del Tredici. Akiva Schaffer, known for “The Naked Gun”, is set to direct. The single-camera comedy follows Mickey, a sharp but jaded former LAPD officer whose life unraveled three years earlier.
The 2026 Met Gala will take place on May 4 with the theme “Fashion Is Art.” Beyonce, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour will serve as co-chairs. The event will inaugurate The Met’s new 12,000-square-foot galleries beside the Great Hall. Jeff and Lauren Sanchez Bezos will sponsor the gala and act as honorary chairs.
Taylor Sheridan’s upcoming “Tulsa King” spinoff starring Samuel L. Jackson has relocated from New Orleans to Texas. Paramount+ announced the series, originally titled “NOLA King”, will now be called “Frisco King” and take place in Texas. Taylor will write all eight episodes of the first season.
