The holidays are nigh, and Meghan Markle is about to celebrate her first Thanksgiving and Christmas as a royal. By all accounts, it’s going to be pretty weird.
First up is Thanksgiving. Some question whether Meghan will be “allowed” to celebrate the holiday, but my source tells me she will be making her Prince a Thanksgiving meal from scratch at their home.
Last year, Meghan celebrated with her mother Doria Ragland in California. How times have changed.
As far as Christmas goes, listen to this: apparently every member of the royal family, including Harry, Prince William and Kate Middleton, must be weighed before and after dinner on Christmas Day. I guess the Queen asks guests to weigh themselves to ensure they’re being “well fed.” Once weighed, the guests must enter the dining room “in order of seniority.” Once seated, the head chef carves the turkey and “paper hats are donned, but not by the Queen.”
Jennifer Aniston and Leonardo DiCaprio allegedly got flirty at his recent birthday party. A source who was there says Leo was so happy to have her there and was completely transfixed on her all night. The two were “trying to keep things platonic at the party, but after they both had a few drinks they became inseparable and shared a few sneaky kisses. It was very sweet. Brad’s gotten close to Leo since they worked together on Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. He introduced them, knowing they’d hit it off. Brad still cares about Jen a lot – seeing her happy with his good friend would bring him nothing but happiness.”
Sex and the City 3 never ended up getting made, but if it had, Mr. Big was going to die. Apparently the script had Mr. Big die of a heart attack in the shower early in the movie, making the remainder of the movie more about how Carrie recovers from Big’s death than about the relationship between the four women. With that being the case I’m glad it wasn’t made!!! Who needs that?! I don’t need that!
It looks like Cardi B had a good year financially because she just bought her mom a dream house. Cardi purchased her mother a home in New York. She posted a video walk-through of the gorgeous home on Instagram yesterday. Cardi said she was “thirsty” to buy her mom a place last year, but could only afford a $600,000 home back then. No word on how much she paid for this new pad, but my source says it’s in the millions.
Jessica Chastain has welcomed a baby girl! It was seven months ago, but who’s counting? The veil of secrecy was lifted yesterday–after photos of Jessica holding a baby carrier were posted online over the weekend. The baby girl arrived via surrogate on April 4th. She is the first child for Jessica and her husband. Jessica joins a number of other celebs who have hidden babies and pregnancies this year, including Kylie Jenner, Drake, Rachel McAdams, Donald Glover, and Adam Driver.
Mandy Moore had kind of an up-and-down weekend. She got married, which is great. But the wedding happened just hours after her cat DIED IN HER ARMS. She was a rescue cat named Madeline, and she died Saturday night of heart failure.
But the wedding went on as planned Sunday. Mandy married Taylor Goldsmith from the rock band Dawes.
They did it in Mandy’s backyard in front of about 50 people, including her “This Is Us” co-stars Milo Ventimiglia, Chrissy Metz, and Sterling K. Brown . . . plus Minka Kelly and Mandy’s ex, Wilmer Valderrama.
Yesterday Mandy posted a video and some pictures of Madeline, along with a caption that said, “This weekend was a roller coaster of emotions in every way. Sometimes life doesn’t consider that you have big plans underway . . .
“We’re still in shock and processing the pain and grief of this loss but holding her in my arms, making sure she knew she was safe and loved as she took her last breaths will stay with me for the rest of my life.”
Taylor Swift has signed a brand spanking new record deal with Universal Music Group–and the deal will benefit other artists as well. Taylor announced the deal yesterday, marking the end of her 12-year relationship with Big Machine Records. “There was one condition that meant more than any other deal point,” Taylor wrote. “As part of my new contract with Universal Music Group, I asked that any sales of their Spotify shares result in a distribution of money to their artists, non-recoupable. They have generously agreed to this, at what they believe will be much better terms than paid out previously by other major labels…” Taylor’s stipulation matches what Sony Music Entertainment put into place with its artists when it sold half its Spotify stock earlier this year for roughly $750 million.
Ten months after announcing their engagement, Paris Hilton and her fiancé, Leftovers actor Chris Zylka, are a couple no more. “Paris broke up with Chris a few weeks ago,” my source says. “Their relationship moved really quickly, and she realized he wasn’t right for her. She wishes him well and hopes they can remain friends.” Rumours of a split began to circulate when Paris pushed back a November 11 wedding date, allegedly because her work and travel schedules were too hectic. This marks the third time Paris has broken off an engagement, after nearly tying the knot with Jason Shaw and Paris Latsis in 2003 and 2005, respectively.
