A tragic loss in the music world over the weekend. Rapper JUICE WRLD died early Sunday at Chicago’s Midway Airport, when he suffered a seizure shortly after getting off a plane from California. He just turned 21 last Monday. There’s no word what caused the seizure. Sources say he was bleeding from the mouth, but still conscious, when he was taken away by paramedics. He was pronounced dead later at the hospital. Juice’s career was just taking off. He released his first studio album, “Goodbye & Good Riddance”, last year, with the huge hit “Lucid Dreams”. He scored his first #1 album earlier this year with “Death Race for Love”.
Disney’s Frozen 2 crossed the $800 million mark globally this weekend, bringing in $33.8 M at the B.O. domestically this weekend. Industry observers expect Frozen 2 to exceed the $1 billion mark in 2019, making it Disney’s sixth to do so this year. Knives Out, in its second week out, earned a promising $14 million for Lionsgate. The only other major new release of the weekend, Playmobil, tanked with about $811,000 in box office receipts. The film is based on a chain of German building toys and features a voice cast Anya Taylor-Joy, Jim Gaffigan, Gabriel Bateman, Adam Lambert, Kenan Thompson, Meghan Trainor and Daniel Radcliffe.
Will Jersey ever be the same? Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is retiring from MTV’s hit reboot Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. The 32-year-old reality star explained on her podcast It’s Happening with Snooki & Joey, that while she “can’t believe [she’s] saying this,” her choice to step away from the MTV show, which originally premiered in 2009, is “what is best for [her] at the moment.” She continued: “I love you so much, and don’t hate me for my decision. I am retiring from Jersey Shore. I am not coming back to Jersey Shore for season 4 if there is one.”
“Sesame Street” legend CAROLL SPINNEY died yesterday. He was 85. There’s no word on the cause of death, but his family says he’d been living with a “movement disorder” called dystonia for some time.
KIM KARDASHIAN unveiled her Christmas decorations in a series of videos on her Instagram Stories, and they’re a bit non-traditional, to say the least. In fact, the Internet seems to think they look like SEX TOYS. They’re supposed to be abstract trees. They’re all white and in various shapes and sizes. They’re made of plush fabric. Kim says, quote, “I love these. They’re so whimsical, like Whoville, but all white.”
