The “Joe Exotic” series that’s in the works at NBC has found its title character. John Cameron Mitchell, best known for his roles on “The Good Fight” and “Hedwig and the Angry Inch”, will play the role of Joe “Exotic” Schreibvogel, the Oklahoma zoo owner made infamous in the Netflix docuseries “Tiger King”.
Vin Diesel will develop and star in a live-action “Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots” movie, based on the classic tabletop game. And that’s not the only game headed to the big screen. Other Mattel Films projects in development include movies based on “American Girl”, “Barbie”, “Hot Wheels”, “Magic 8 Ball”, “Masters of the Universe”, “Thomas & Friends”, “UNO” and “View-Master”.
Foo Fighters are the latest in the growing list of bands to push their tour dates back for another year. On Twitter, they announced that their rescheduled European 2020 tour, which was set to mark their 25th anniversary, will now be taking place in 2022.
Genesis’ Mike Rutherford says their twice-delayed reunion tour may come to North America after all. The band announced “The Last Domino” tour just before the pandemic. In a new interview, Mike said he doubts the U.K. and Ireland dates will happen this fall, but he can see the group playing some North American dates near the end of the year.
Chris Stapleton has rescheduled dates for his “All-American Road Show” tour and added some. The rescheduled tour begins July 17 at Wrigley Field in Chicago. The tour now includes 57 dates between July 2021 and June 2022.
“Boots and Hearts” organizers, of the annual country music festival north of Toronto, have been forced to cancel the event again this year, due to the pandemic. Taking place over three days in August at the Burl’s Creek Event Grounds in Oro-Medonte, Ont. since 2012, “Boots and Hearts” has become one of the biggest festivals in Canada.
