The series is set several years after the events of the films. “Pitch Perfect” debuted in 2012, with the third and final film released in 2017. The three movies grossed nearly $600 million combined.

Variety reports that the comedian will star in three films for Amazon Studios and develop original film projects for Prime Video and the studio, with the potential to star in them.
