Disney+ has set a June 4th premiere date for “The Acolyte”, a new series set during the High Republic era of the Star Wars timeline. It follows a Jedi Master investigating a crime spree with evil forces at play.
Dave Matthews Band is leading the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s fan vote, ahead of both Ozzy and Foreigner. The band has close to 300,000 votes but Ozzy is close behind with just around 1,000 fewer votes. Dave Matthews Band won the fan vote back in 2020 but weren’t inducted as fan votes don’t guarantee entry. The fan vote is open until April 26 at Vote.RockHall.com.
The Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce will soon operate 1587 Prime Steakhouse. If you don’t know the meaning of the name, you aren’t a football fan. Mahomes is number 15, and Kelce is number 87. The restaurant is expected to have multiple private dining rooms and one of the best wine collections in Missouri.
Instagram is reportedly testing a feature where you can put a new spin on someone else’s reel. Instagram Spin would allow you to take someone’s reel and swap the audio and text out to create a new version of the content. The original creator would get credit every time someone puts a new “spin” on it. Currently, Spins is only an internal prototype, but if it’s approved, the feature could help IG in its battle with TikTok.
Starbucks has just ousted Subway as the second largest restaurant chain on the planet. Adding around 3,000 locations in 2023 alone, there are 38,587 Starbucks locations worldwide. McDonald’s has the most locations of any restaurant on Earth, with 41,882 Mickey D’s out there.
Kristen Wiig has a short answer for you if you’re holding out hope for a second “Bridesmaids” movie. She says “the story has ended” for her character in the romantic comedy — and a sequel is very unlikely. “It’s never been a conversation because that story had an end, and it’s so beloved to me for 10 million reasons, and I think it’s OK to just have it exist in the world as it is.”
Disney+ has shared a clip of Taylor Swift singing ‘I Can See You’ on Instagram. It’s one of the bonus songs on “The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version”), now available to stream on the service. The vid shows her in a sparkling magenta dress, playing a guitar with her name inlaid into the fretboard.
MrBeast is creating the biggest reality competition series in TV history called “Beast Games”. 1,000 contestants will be competing for $5 million. It’ll be on Prime Video, but a release date hasn’t been announced.
An animated “Cat in the Hat” movie is hitting theaters March 6th, 2026. The voice cast includes Bill Hader as the Cat, along with Quinta Brunson, Bowen Yang, and Matt Berry.
Ariana Grande has achieved her ninth career number one on the Billboard Hot 100 as her latest single “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)” debuts in the top spot. The track, featured on Grande’s new album Eternal Sunshine, also reached No. 1 with the best first week of any album so far this year. Her grandmother, who appears on one of the album’s tracks, has also become the oldest living person to chart on the Hot 100 at 98 years old.
Nicki Minaj’s New Orleans concert was canceled last minute due to her feeling ill. “Due to doctor’s orders, Nicki Minaj must reschedule her NOLA show tonight,” Smoothie King Center announced via Instagram. “As Nicki is still sick, our team does not want to run the risk of getting others sick, and Nicki would not be able to give NOLA the show they deserve.”
Jimmy Kimmel is producing a new reality series called “High Hopes” about a cannabis dispensary, set to premiere on Hulu on April 20th. The show follows two brothers and their growing marijuana business.
