“Downton Abbey” 3 will hit the big screen in September 2025. The official Instagram page for the show and Focus Features said in a joint announcement: “A new motion picture event. The third film in the beloved Downton franchise will be released only in theaters September 12, 2025.” The news comes a month after the show confirmed a threequel was in the works, releasing a video of the classic cast back together for a table read.
Jennifer Lopez is no longer gone, girl. She and Ben Affleck are back in the same country and hanging out. TMZ says the 2 were both at his Beverly Hills office on Wednesday, although photographers weren’t able to snap them together. He arrived around 10am, and J Lo pulled up a few hours later. The previous evening, Ben was spotted leaving the same location — wearing his wedding ring.
Van Morrison is delving into his archives for the new album “New Arrangements and Duets”, out September 27. It will include contributions from Willie Nelson, Joss Stone, Curtis Stigers and Kurt Elling, all recorded between 2018 and 2019. The preview song ‘Choppin Wood’ is out now. He’ll also release “Be Just and Fear Not: Live at Orangefield” on July 12.
“Due to overwhelming demand”, Eagles have announced yet more shows at The Sphere in Las Vegas. Four additional concerts have been announced, bringing the scheduled run of performances to 16, beginning September 20. The new dates are December 6, 7, 13, and 14.
Kane Brown, Carrie Underwood, Old Dominion + Megan Moroney have all scheduled performances on GMA’s 2024 Summer Concert Series. Kane will take the stage July 19 at New York’s Central Park, and Carrie at the same place on August 2. Megan is scheduled for Times Square studios on August 30, and Old Dominion on September 6.
Sony will release its film adaptation of Japanese video game, ‘Street Fighter’ in March 2026. ‘Street Fighter’ has sold more than 49 million copies since debuting in 1987, making it one of the most popular games of all time. There have been other ‘Street Fighter’ films before; one in 1994 with Jean-Claude Van Damme and another in 2009.
Madonna has the highest-grossing worldwide tour of 2024 thus far, according to Pollstar’s mid-year report, thanks to the success of her “Celebration Tour”. With average ticket prices of $208.85, the pop icon had an average gross of $2,794,007 with 13,378 average tickets sold, making for a total of 856,247 in ticket sales across 34 reported shows out of 65 dates. Not all promoters or tours report their numbers, or all of their numbers, to Pollstar. Most notably, the absence of Taylor Swift’s “Eras” tour does not report its tour figures.
Taylor Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department” is going the distance. It spent a tenth consecutive week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. She’s now just one of five acts with three or more albums to spend 10 or more weeks at No. 1, standing alongside Whitney Houston, The Beatles, The Kingston Trio, and Elvis Presley. Taylor Swift is also the only act with three albums to spend at least 10 weeks at No. 1 this century.
“Inside Out 2” is massive. Pixar and Disney’s sequel has crossed the $1 billion club at the global box office in record time. The movie hit the billion mark on its 19th day of release, faster than any animated picture in history. “Inside Out 2” stayed at No. 1 in the domestic box office in its third week bringing in $57.4 million for a North American total of $469.3 million. Coming in No. 2 was the debut of “A Quiet Place: Day One” scoring a franchise-best weekend opening of $53 million.
Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger have another baby on the way! A source says that the author and her MCU star hubby are continuing to grow their famous family. In a new post on her Instagram account, Katherine kept her back to the camera to keep her baby bump out of sight. “Things that make me happy: A gloomy morning followed by a barn visit ☺️❤️,” she captioned the post.
Tony Hale and Sheryl Lee Ralph will announce the 2024 Emmy Awards nominations on July 17 at El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles. They will be joined by Television Academy chair Cris Abrego. The Emmy Awards are set for September 15 and will air on ABC.

While gearing up for her 3 shows in Dublin, Taylor Swift shared a photo of the flowers and a note that she received from hometown heroes U2. Stewart autographed 4 soundwave originals that are already sold out, as well as 100 prints, which sell for $470 each. The song contains the lyric “be courageous and be brave”.

“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” the long-time-coming sequel to Tim Burton’s cult classic, will open the 81st Venice International Film Festival out of competition on August 28. The film will hit theaters on September 6 in North America, with international releases beginning September 4.
Richard Gere has taken his first major TV role. He’s set to star opposite Michael Fassbender and Jeffrey Wright in “The Agency”, the upcoming espionage political thriller series for Paramount+ with Showtime. It is co-produced by George Clooney, and follows Fassbender as a CIA agent, ordered to abandon his undercover life and return to London Station.

Netflix confirmed yesterday that it has acquired the rights to “RIP”, the upcoming Joe Carnahan-directed thriller starring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. The duo will also produce through their Artists Equity production company.
Jeremy Irons has been cast in the upcoming fourth season of “The Morning Show” on Apple TV+. He will portray Martin Levy, the father of Jennifer Aniston’s character. The show follows the dynamics of a morning news program.
