Conan O’Brien will host the 99th Academy Awards, returning for the third straight year, the Academy announced Tuesday. The ceremony airs live March 14, 2027, on ABC and Hulu from the Dolby Theatre.
Paul McCartney turned down an offer to be roasted on Netflix before producers selected Kevin Hart for the streaming platform’s latest comedy special. Jeff Ross, the “Roastmaster General” and executive producer, confirmed to Variety that Paul was approached for the project. “We did ask Paul McCartney at one point. To me, that would be a fantasy roast,” Ross said, adding that a Paul roast “would be good for the world” because “he is so loved.”
Jimmy Fallon will not air a new episode of “The Tonight Show” on May 21, the night Stephen Colbert hosts his final “Late Show”. NBC confirmed it will broadcast a rerun instead. ABC had previously announced this week that “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” will also not air a new episode that night to support Colbert and allow viewers to tune in to his farewell.
Season 2 of Chris Pratt’s military thriller “The Terminal List” will premiere October 21. The Amazon Prime series is adapted from Jack Carr’s bestselling novels. The first season debuted in 2022 and followed Chris as a former Navy SEAL who investigates the murders of his family and best friend after his platoon is ambushed in Afghanistan.
ABC started unveiling contestants for the 35th season of “Dancing With the Stars”, set to premiere this fall. The full lineup will be announced September 2. Among the first names are “Summer House” star Ciara Miller, “Love Island” and “The Traitors” alum Maura Higgins, and Savannah Bananas baseball player and social media creator Jackson Olson.
