Netflix has revealed the star of its upcoming “Scooby Doo: Origins”, the first time in the Scooby-Doo franchise that Scooby will appear as a real dog. The series, currently in production in Atlanta, is set to premiere in 2027. The just-released teaser begins from a dog’s POV, with the sound of paws running on the ground and an occasional bark. The quick clip then cuts to the adorable Scooby-Doo excitedly jumping into Shaggy’s arms.

It already was the studio’s biggest movie of all time domestically, where it stands at $151 million. The news comes as it dropped just 7% in its fourth weekend, with its $25.6 million setting a record for the best 4th weekend ever for a horror film. The previous record holder was “Blair Witch Project”.
