New research shows a sharp rise in romance series adapted from books on global streaming services. The study found that scripted romance now makes up 83% of the genre, while unscripted reality shows have declined. Over the past year, first-run book adaptations increased 73% to 19 titles. Amazon and Netflix lead the trend, producing about half of all romances.
