Ryan Gosling has officially joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe. During Marvel’s much-anticipated panel at San Diego Comic-Con, he was revealed as the next actor to play Ghost Rider, the iconic character previously portrayed onscreen by Nicolas Cage. Marvel Studios exec Kevin Feige confirmed Ryan will embody the role in an upcoming standalone movie.

 

Rick Moranis has returned to Hollywood. The star received a thunderous standing ovation and chants of “Rick! Rick! Rick!” at the San Diego Comic-Con panel for “Spaceballs: The New One”, the long-awaited sequel that marks his first film role in over 20 years. During the panel, he joked, “I really wasn’t retired. I was just negotiating”, after explaining that he had been talking to Mel Brooks about doing a “Spaceballs” sequel as far back as 1989.

 

Marvel Studios has officially announced that “Black Panther 3” will hit theaters on December 15, 2028. The news came during the studio’s presentation at San Diego Comic-Con, where it was confirmed that Ryan Coogler is returning to direct the trilogy finale. David Jonsson has been cast as T’Challa’s grown son, who will take on the mantle of the iconic hero.

 

Pete Davidson is stepping into the role of real-life mafia killer Tommy Pitera in the upcoming film “Tommy Karate”. It is based on Philip Carlo’s 2009 book “The Butcher: Anatomy of a Mafia Psychopath”, which chronicles his early life and entrance into the Italian Mafia crime family in New York City. He is suspected of as many as 60 murders and earned his nickname for his martial arts skills.

 

Bad Bunny played the final show of the “Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour”. Billboard reports it grossed $467.5 million and sold 3.1 million tickets over 55 shows, setting several records, including the highest-grossing tour by a male Latin artist in history.

 

Sammy Hagar didn’t wait to respond after David Lee Roth had canceled the remaining dates of his 2026 tour. In a social media video, Sammy thanked his fellow ex-Van Halen frontman for being “out there doing it, supporting the greatest band in the world that we were both part of.” He also invited Dave to come sing a song or two, or even emcee, at his upcoming Las Vegas residency.

 

Roxette got some good and bad news last week. The group’s 1990 smash ‘It Must Have Been Love’ officially joined YouTube’s Billion Views Club. The bad news? Roxette’s 40th anniversary tour had all its US and Canada dates canceled. A statement on the group’s social media says the tour was “postponed” due to “logistics and hugely increased touring costs.”

 

Ne-Yo has revealed that he has six to eight unreleased songs created in collaboration with Michael Jackson in 2008. The songs were intended for a comeback album after Michael’s “This Is It” concerts. The music was developed through a close creative partnership but was never recorded due to his unexpected death in June 2009.

 

Gracie Abrams has landed her first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, as “Daughter From Hell” debuts atop the new chart. The record earned 124,000 equivalent album units in the week ending July 23, her best single week ever. Album sales accounted for 77,000 units, while streaming generated 47.27 million on-demand plays. She previously peaked at No. 2 with “The Secret of Us” in 2024.

 

Emma Roberts, known for her role in “American Horror Story”, has married actor Cody John. They exchanged vows in Idaho on Saturday during an outdoor ceremony with family and friends. The couple often shares glimpses of their life on social media but maintains a private relationship.

 

Tom Holland told the “Dish Podcast” that promoting “The Odyssey” and “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” has been easy because they’re good. “When you’re proud of a film, answering why people should see it is easy,” he explained.
