Beyoncé‘s legal team is trying to place a block on the clothing line, Poison Ivy Park, claiming that the name is too similar to the singer’s Ivy Park line and would confuse customers, and damage Beyoncé’s brand. Bey launched her line with Topshop on April 14th, 2016, meanwhile a Poison Ivy Park trademark was registered by a company called 4/7/22 Inc. on the same day. The owner of the line, however, is not backing down. Mike Link says Poison Ivy Park was inspired by the Goth and punk rock audiences and is targeting misfits.
The man known as The Rock to the world earned his nickname as a kid when he pulled his mother back from the brink of suicide. Dwayne Johnson shared the heart-wrenching story on Instagram yesterday about that day.
He wrote: “My mom tried to check out when I was 15,” he wrote. “She got outta the car on Interstate 65 in Nashville and walked into oncoming traffic. Big rigs and cars swerving outta the way not to hit her.”
He noted that he was the one who saved his mom’s life, adding, “I grabbed her and pulled her back on the gravel shoulder off the road. What’s crazy about that suicide attempt is to this day, she has no recollection of it whatsoever. Probably best she doesn’t.” He added, “We got lucky that day when I was 15 and that ain’t always the case,” he wrote.
Charlie Puth admits that his short-lived romance with Selena Gomez really messed with his emotions. “I don’t kiss and tell, but the only way a song like [“How 0=”Long””] can come across as real is if there’s something else going on behind the scenes. And that’s what was happening,” Charlie says, “Very short-lived, very small, but very impactful. And it really messed me up. I’m trying to put this the best way possible: It wasn’t like I was the only person on her mind. And I think I knew that going in–what I was getting myself into.” Despite how things ended, Charlie says he still likes performing their 2016 collaboration “We Don’t Talk Anymore.” He says, “She evoked such good emotion on that song, it was a pleasure working with her,” he adds. “That’s why I’m always happy to sing it, even though it came from a dark point in my life.”
Selena Gomez has completed a two-week program for depression and anxiety. My source tells me she stayed at an on-site treatment center and focused on therapy, eating healthy meals cooked by an on-site chef, pilates, and mediation. Apparently, she was allowed to keep her phone and come and go as she pleased; she even conducted business while she was there. Selena has since returned to Los Angeles, where she was spotted on Wednesday night with boyfriend Justin Bieber.
Kim Kardashian West is sending sets of her KKW Beauty Kimoji Hearts fragrances to a handful of her haters–including enemy Taylor Swift. “I decided for this Valentine’s Day, everyone deserves a valentine, and I’m going to send them to my lovers, to my haters, to everyone that I think of, because it’s Valentine’s Day after all,” Kim said on her Instagram story yesterday. She also revealed the list of haters she’s sending the fragrances to, which includes Taylor, Pink, Chloe Grace Moretz, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Piers Morgan, and Bette Middler. People that made Kim’s “nice” list include mom Kris Jenner, sisters Kourtney and Khloe, Ciara, and Karrueche Tran.
Ellen DeGeneres just turned 60 last week, so her wife Portia De Rossi went on her show yesterday to present her gift. It was pretty wild.
Ellen is apparently a huge fan of animal activist Dian Fossey . . . who wrote the book “Gorillas in the Mist”.
Before she died in 1985, Dian set up a research center in Rwanda to observe and protect mountain gorillas. And Portia’s gift is to set up the Ellen DeGeneres Campus at the center, for tourism, education and research.
Ellen actually teared up, and said, “It’s good to be loved, it’s profound to be understood. [Portia] understands me, because that is the best gift that anyone could have given me.”
Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have been inseparable since hooking up last March, and they seem to be doing better than ever. In a recent interview she said, “He’s so supportive, I mean, he was at rehearsal with me last night till 1 a.m. and after he had worked his whole day, I work my whole day, then we go to rehearsal and he’s like, ‘What time will you be done?’ I said, ‘I don’t know.’ He goes, ‘Alright, I’ll just come over there and I’ll do some work and we’ll go home together.’ That’s the kind of support, like in this business, it’s just a different kind of business, you know, and so, to have someone who understands it and wants to be there and you want to be there for them, it’s a very special thing.” When asked about rumours that the two might get engaged, J-Lo laughed. “I don’t like to pressure anybody for anything,” she replied.
Elon Musk and Amber Heard have broken up. Again. My source tells me that after briefly reuniting for the past two months, the 46-year-old Tesla billionaire and 31-year-old actress have called it quits for a second time. Apparently, Elon decided it was time to end it and Amber agreed. They both still care deeply for each other, but the timing wasn’t right.
An E! investigation into allegations of misconduct by Ryan Seacrest has found “insufficient evidence to support the claims” against him. “E! has now concluded the investigation into allegations regarding Ryan Seacrest,” the network said in a statement. A former stylist alleged last November that Seacrest had behaved inappropriately toward her. Seacrest denied what he called “reckless allegations’ and insisted, “I’m proud of my workplace reputation, and believe my track record will speak for itself.”
Moschino recently took to Instagram to share a photo of Cardi B performing at the Grammys, since the fashion brand designed her outfit. But trolls were quick to begin pointing out the singer’s body hair in the image. “She better shave her stomach hair before modeling,” one person tweeted. Another wrote, “Ya’ll see her happy trail though. She needa shave that stomach.” Fans were quick to defend the rapper. “Seriously? I had to zoom in and squint to see any hair. THIS is what the controversy is about?” one wrote. “Ya’ll do realize that women are mammals, right? Hair is normal. There is absolutely NOTHING WRONG WITH HER BODY.” Cardi didn’t explicitly clap back at the her critics, but she posted a message on her own Instagram account that read, “A hater do the most to get recognition by the person they HATE!”
Justin Timberlake did a press conference yesterday to hype his Super Bowl halftime show. Naturally, there weren’t any ‘hard-hitting’ questions, but someone did ask if he’d invited Janet Jackson and ‘N Sync to join him.
He paused . . . and then said, “Uh, well, no. To be honest, I had a ton of grand ideas about special guests . . . from ‘N Sync to Jay-Z to Chris Stapleton to Janet . . . but this year . . . my band, The Tennessee Kids, I feel like they’re my special guests, and I’m excited to rock the stage.”
It’s very possible that he’s lying to preserve a surprise . . . especially since he seemed a little awkward in denying it . . . but officially, it’s a NO.
