Maple Leaf Theatre Productions’ national premiere of Sir John A. Macdonald – The Musical, written by award winning playwright Gord Carruth, takes you back 150 years to the birth of Canada to tell the story of the dominant figure of Canadian Confederation.
It’s a story rife with political scandal and of treason; from Louis Riel to possible annexation by the United States. It’s a story of a man who overcame deep personal tragedy, his own devils, and political challenges to bring together a vision to forge a new nation.
