St. Joseph High School presents to you The Crucible, written by Arthur Miller. Performances are at 7 PM on April 20th and 21st, at St. Joseph Catholic High School, 3333 Greenbank Road. Free parking on site.
Based on the true events of the Salem witch trials, it follows the teenager Abigail Williams (F. Chapman) in her rebellion against the rigid Puritan structure of Salem. She expresses it in John Proctor (D. Turner), bound in wedlock yet victim to Abigail’s temptations. When Proctor regains his conscience and rejects her, she accuses Elizabeth Proctor (I. Cadetto-Reyes) of witchcraft. Neighbour against neighbour, humanity against God, every man, woman, and child turn against one another. Against a relentless prosecution, the Proctors fight for their innocence in the face of evil. Filled with love, drama, and betrayal, The Crucible is a wicked depiction of humanity’s nature to devolve into chaos.
