Coming from a background of Irish folk rock and 80’s rock and alternative, I ended up having a very rich appreciation for music at a very young age. Growing up in a small town there wasn’t much to off except a couple of instruments and lots of time to learn how to annoy people with them. I watched my father (Bobby McGinnis – Front man and lead guitar for “The Crooked Horn”) recording music and playing shows, as well as my mother (Beverley Hitchins) who was also in the band and left that side of the coin to go run an open mic for 18 years showing me an appreciation for live music, add those two up and I ended up playing lead guitar, drums and singing background vocals for him, and helping her with the open mic from a about 12 till before I left high school. That drove me to start writing my own music but I very quickly learned that rather than writing singer songwriter type stuff, I ended up drawing my musical inspiration mainly from hip hop, rap, punk, and metal. Come 2013, I start high school and find my first D.A.W. called FL studio and now i mix all my music on pro tools. Through learning, time, effort and dedication. I made my first sets of beats/songs and got some great feedback from my friends and family which kept pushing me to keep going. From then on I started learning more about why things in music sounded so good. Early on I started focusing on the mixing aspect of making music. Now I make my own music and collaborate wit lots of awesome people as well as running a full time music studio out of my apartment, last year I got the opportunity to be on the winning team of CTV, Faces Magazine and Ottawa Awards song of the year 2021 for one of my clients, the song being “Heart On Lockdown – Carter Hickey” from the people pleasing album that was featured on here before, I mixed and mastered that entire project!
