Lessons in Crime is an energetic Alternative Pop-Rock duo from Ottawa, Ontario, comprised of Liam Schwisberg and Paolo Pace. The two met while attending college to study music production, and formed the band in 2017 after discovering that their music tastes and absurdly perfectionistic values aligned. Their aim is to push pop/rock to the limits, creating a blend of orchestral, guitar, and synth elements. The pair both sing and play multiple instruments during their live shows, jumping between drums, to guitar, to piano, to ukulele, in between all of their other theatrical moments. Liam and Paolo strive to create an engaging and fun show from start to finish. “If we’re not completely exhausted and drenched in sweat by the end of the show, we know we haven’t done enough” says Liam. In 2019, the boys released their self-produced debut album “The Answer Doesn’t Exist,” alongside an album release show at Ottawa’s Gladstone Theatre. Since then, Liam and Paolo have been hard at work on their second full-length album, set to release in 2023. They intend to take this album to the next level, creating a music video for each and every one of its 14 tracks.
